Patrick Henry's historic speech dramatized during the Golden Age of Hollywood. "Give me liberty or give me death..." rang out on March 23, 1775. Cherish those words and the tremendous courage of the man who in speaking them knew his life could be forfeit as a result. We usually read the D of I out on our patio every July 4th, this year I read Patrick Henry’s speech to my family - still brings goose-bumps.

Unless we are going to roll over and wet ourselves.

How do we take out a corporate oligarchy effectively, it assuredly will not happen from our finely elected politicians that supposedly represent their constituents.

Do what our founders did and leave. Maybe the best choice...

Here is the URL of the longer 22 minute film, Give Me Liberty (1936). It starts with an 1765 speech by Patrick Henry where draws analogs from history about the current acts of the British Monarch, George III, and the British Parliament. As his colleagues shout 'Treason' when he mentions King George, Mr Henry smiles at his verbal trap is sprung; " ... and George the Third may profit by their example!" Then, as he turns to sit, he ends with "If this be treason, make the most of it!"

Patrick Henry and Thomas Paine were both very eloquent wordsmiths in our Country's struggle at that time. They gave full proof to the axiom that words were as good as bullets!
