Having a good weekend?
Having a good weekend?
Evening, folks. Vision, I know they don’t even allow a book of matches in Maryland, much less higher grade pyrotechnics. Gina, you allowed any in your state?
Oh, ok then. Good luck.
Hi Viking, depends on the county. There’s lots of fireworks around. No firecrackers or bottle rockets but people still get them. Everything good?
Status quo here. I think in Allegany County, even sparklers are illegal. Connie went past Shelton Fireworks and Boom-City yesterday and this evening, and you can’t even get into the parking lots. Folks around here didn’t get their fix last 4th, so they’re making up for it. Alabama lets you sell stuff you could knock a Cessna out of the sky with. I figure that in about an hour, it’ll sound like the Battle of The Ardennes around here and not stop until Tuesday morning. Keeps the cops busy with all the noise complaints.
lol
Hi, Guys! I forgot about the Sunday thread—discombobulated over the holiday. We’re okay. Viking, I guess we can have fireworks, but not in our cities. They want you to do them in the county or on the beach (which is technically “the county”). But I think we must have a shortage of fireworks available, because we aren’t hearing HARDLY the amount we normally do last night and tonight.
Hi Gina, hope you’re enjoying the weekend.
Thanks, Vision! I hope the same for you. :-)
“it’ll sound like the Battle of The Ardennes”
HaHa. That’s the way we do it in a free state like Alabama.
Of course there might be some liquid encouragement involved.

Oh, the police scanner is s-s-s-s-smokin’ this evening. Every open field in the area has ‘pyrotechnic event specialists’ in them. The field behind Boom-City seems to be a good choice due to the proximity. They also seem to have had an accident already and I’m waiting for the fire department sirens. And adult refreshment always lowers inhibitions. And, accordingly, common sense goes out the window. Back when I was about 18, we had a 4th of July kegger at the old K of C swimming pool, and we took the lower field. Someone pulled up and took the upper field and it wasn’t too long before the first bottle rocket landing among us. Well, we had one guy build a Gatling board that could hold about fifty bottle rockets, and he let fly. It was beautiful, man. Like all the Terminators Skynet could throw at us, and we gave as good as we got. LOL!
My neighborhood sounds like a warzone.
Our cats have all hidden now. The cannon fire out there has to be heard to believed. And some of it is coming from the sheriff’s property. He’ll bleat and moan if I go do target plinking out of the back forty, but he’ll let his damn kids set my woods on fire. That ain’t right.
“Our cats have all hidden now.”
It’s better this year for the cats. They’ve gravitated to the back bedroom where there’s less noise. And we’ve turned on the air purifiers and dehumidifier at high power, the AC, and TVs. It’s pretty effective to disguise the fireworks.
HAHAHAHA!!! :-D
