Royal Caribbean's Florida cruise in July will be different for unvaccinated passengers amid the state's vaccine passport ban.

Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas will begin cruising July 2 from Miami on three- to four-night trips. Unvaccinated and vaccinated passengers aboard the ship will have different cruising experiences. Unvaccinated guests can't access the vaccinated-only parts of the ship and will have to pay extra for COVID-19 tests. See more stories on Insider's business page.

Royal Caribbean doesn't have a sweeping vaccine mandate for cruises sailing out of Florida. But if you're unvaccinated and sailing with the cruise line this July, you might not have the same cruising experience as your fellow vaccinated passengers.

Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas will bring passengers on three or four-night trips from Miami to the Bahamas and the cruise line's private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, beginning July 2. All onboard crew and the majority of guests will be vaccinated, according to the cruise line's frequently asked questions page. Most of the unvaccinated passengers will be children.

Now, let's take a look at the differences between a vaccinated and unvaccinated passenger's experience aboard the upcoming Freedom of the Seas sailings.

Fully vaccinated guests can access every part of the ship, and won't need to wear a face covering at "vaccinated-only venues." Unvaccinated passengers won't have this same luxury: they'll have to wear masks indoors or in crowded outdoor locations unless they're eating and drinking, and won't be able to access select venues.

Locations that are vaccinated-only include:

Chef''s Table (restaurant) Izumi Hibachi and Sushi (restaurant) the main dining room on the third deck R Bar Schooner Bar Viking Crown Nightclub Solarium Bar (for 21-years-old or older guests) and Pool (for 16-years-old or older guests) 70s Party in Studio B some Studio B Ice Skating Show times Casino Royale and Bar Art auctions

Why dont they just have a cruise for unvaccinated only?

I’m guessing it would probly attract as many passengers as a vaccinated only cruise...maybe more...wouldn’t THAT be hilarious.

Vaccinated are supposedly safe from the unvaccinated so why are they worried?

A:

Esther 3

8. And Haman said to king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of your kingdom; and their laws are different from those of every other people; and they do not keep the king's laws; therefore it is not for the king's profit to tolerate them:
9. If it please the king, let it be decreed that they may be destroyed; and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those who have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king's treasuries:

How did Haman get so rich in politics? /r

It never fails to amaze me how utterly stupid and inert people can be.

your WAY off.

Maybe so, but if they won't let me troll for fish off the stern, I'd rather fly.

Of course, I usually travel in a 737, which is a flying Greyhound bus.

Having said all that, we’ve always cruised on Princess ships...and I have nothing negative to say about them.

I've been on both Princess and Norwegian Cruise Lines. Last Princess cruise was to Alaska in 2012.

Last NCL cruise was to Honduras, Curaco, Belize and Mexico. It was fantastic. I prefer NCL because as recently as 2019 (my last cruise) there was always someone cleaning common surfaces and the ships emphasis on cleanliness was obvious.

That said, I've nothing negative to say about Princess having been on three cruises with them, just that I prefer NCL a little more.

So since this only limits unvaccinated persons for Covid 19, I am assuming if you have tuberculosis, swine flu, dengue or any other sickness, you are okay to enjoy the entire ship?

A quick trip to Norweigian or Princess cruise line website will give you an idea of the level of entertainment experience you can expect onboard ship.

As far as fishing goes, booking a fishing excursion while in port is usually an option.

I was on that ship ten years ago - Eastern Caribbean. It's nice, but the July sailing I was on had way too many noisy kids. Certainly not worth risking the vaccine for.

If there is an outbreak among those unvaccinated, then the cruise may be terminated early, additional protocols enacted, all of which adversely affect the vaccinated too.

It isn’t discrimination if there a valid business reasons. Adhering to CDC guidelines would be considered a valid business reason.

Capt Tom:

I fully expect a repeat of the resistance to showing ID to board an aircraft. Some unvaccinated person will show up at the pier with the intent of creating a legal challenge just like some showed up at the airport boarding gate and refused, on Constitutional grounds, to show ID.

Vaccinated can infect unvaccinated. Seems the unvaxxed should stay far, far away from the vaxxed.

Reason #5,867,357 I’m not buying a ticket.

I wonder how soon it will be before one of the vaxxed elite decides a ‘leper’ has crossed a line, and throws him or her overboard?
