Youth International Party -- Observe their flag

Posted on 07/01/2021 12:03:08 AM PDT by Right Wing Vegan

commies

This is the flag adopted by the Youth International Party, founded in 1967. The red communist star is coupled with a marijuana leaf. This party, founded by unpatriotic leftists and anarchists, and supported by arch degenerates such as the pedophile "poet" pot legalization activist Alan Ginsberg, was instrumental in dismantling healthy anti-communist sentiment in the United States, including the demise of the House Un-American Activities Committee. All this was achieved through childish publicity stunts, leftist and anarchist propaganda, promotion of degeneracy and counterculture, and of course mass proliferation of marijuana. Our nation's weak handling of these subversives opened the way to astounding leftist gains in subsequent decades, including marijuana legalization today.

This flag says it all. It summarizes the one-two combo punch of leftism and marijuana that has knocked our nation's people senseless and thus willing to accept the most insane destruction of our culture

The War on Drugs was “weak handling of these subversives”?

The term subversives is not meant to include traffickers. Whether the war on drugs was seriously fought, consistent, and not hindered by corruption and enemies within, etc. are a separate matter. I’m referring to the subversives out to normalize the drug, among other leftist and anti-American activities.

I lived in a house with some hippies in the ‘80s. They were expecting cross-country visitors one summer. The visitors showed up later than expected because they’d driven into Canada on a whim. When returning they got busted with seeds in their ashtray, and lost dad’s car. They showed up carrying backpacks. The WOD was fought against low level users, to be sure. At the highest levels, the Feds may have been involved in trafficking.

America smokes a lot of weed. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that enemies, whether foreign or domestic, exploit that fact.

Veganism is part of it too.

“...hippies in the ‘80’s”????

By the 1980’s there were no more “Hippies”, just wannabees.

I use it generically.

But there were still hippies. This was in Eugene, OR. They were in their 40s and 50s and had some perspective on things. Also dealt with some trust fund bohemian types.

The whole hippie/yippee/yuppie transition played out pretty fast. Yuppies were the scum of the Earth in the circles I was familiar with. Flower children in ‘87 were growing and selling flowers at the Saturday market in Eugene. Never mind that they grew them on a high-dollar farm in the country. I think the guy that owned that may have earned some of his money, but he was awfully young. He had trust funders and real bohemians hanging around. Some of them were bigger assh*les than any yuppie.

Eugene OR.? Wasn’t Band of Brothers “Malarkey” from Eugene?

In the late 1970’s I hung out with what I would term, Real Hippies” or Post-Hippies at Michigan. They were much wiser than us punks. Most of them had to adjust to a lost world of the played out 60’s. I would not term the types you’re describing as “Flower Children” as in my view, that is a specific type from a specific era, (1965-1973). Anybody who came after that were just mimicking a by gone era...

We took a family vacation into Northern California in the mid-seventies to see a friend that had moved there. Mom wanted to see her friend, dad had an ulterior motive. He wanted to check out the red-light district of San Francisco....just drive through after dark. All because of the one scene in “Dirty Harry.” Watching the movie always brings it back. The other was to check out the street people. They were pretty colorful, but a lot of them were just the worst speed burnout panhandlers you can imagine. Still had the beads and hippie rags, but they were the walking dead.

Quote from Ken Kesey (author of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest), referring to Eugene and Lane County, Oregon:

“We’re all here because we’re not all there.”
