Good Source for Handguns

Have a friend who had their .22 S&W Ladysmith 317 hammerless stolen and is trying to find a replacement but cannot locate one via normal channels like www.gunbroker.com www.auctionsolutionsinc.com or www.proxibid.com.

I wasn’t aware the 22 S&W Ladysmith 317 was hammer-less.
they are for sale ffl to ffl on the web but they have external hammers.
Try a S&W model 940. My wife likes hers.

I’m not an expert but it appears they made both. My friend has dozens of guns and this was their carry conceal gun. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I think if its less common the regular sites will carry them but you will have to check more often, they won’t be showing up in large numbers, it will be sporadic but they should pop up.

A good alternate is the ruger lcr in .22, 8 shots, hammerless, awesome grip

I only see 317s with hammers. Some of them are pretty nice, though.

The grip absorbs quite a bit of the recoil as opposed to some revolvers which seem to rely almost entirely on your hand and wrist to absorb recoil.

It wont wear your hand out like some revolvers do. And that is all the way up to their .357 version.

This says that some of them were made for “.22 long” and other calibers but no mention of .22 long rifle.
