Use Caution for those at risk of myocarditis from Covid-19 vaccines

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued guidance last week for patients and medical professionals about how to handle Covid-19 vaccinations in light of concerns about cardiac inflammation... The guidance does not, however, advise against vaccination or even recommend that individuals who have experienced myocarditis — either from non-Covid-19 causes, from Covid-19 itself, or even from vaccination — discuss vaccination with their health care providers.

Widely circulated slides from a recent meeting of the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices offered even more surprising recommendations. First, they recommended individuals receive “any FDA-authorized Covid-19 vaccine if heart has recovered” in those who have had myocarditis before vaccination. They also recommended pushing ahead with a second dose of an mRNA vaccine for individuals who developed myocarditis or pericarditis after a first dose if the heart has recovered “under certain circumstances,” even though a second dose could result in recurrent inflammation, which may be more severe than the initial bout and have lasting negative consequences on heart function.

We worry that this guidance does not give sufficient deference to the potential for recurrent myocarditis, and that anyone with a history of myocarditis or who develops myocarditis soon after Covid-19 vaccination should explore carefully with their health care providers about their options until the medical community better understands why this inflammation occurs and if it can be avoided through alternative approaches.

There are precedent frameworks for considering complex trade-offs like this one. Some cancer medications (themselves wonders of modern medical science) can cause myocarditis and heart dysfunction, and so are used cautiously in those with a history of heart disease. Deciding to administer these drugs is not done lightly.

Who is at risk?
If it’s occuring in young healthy people isn’t everyone at risk?
Or have they identified risk factors?

Most at risk are young males (~12 - 30), particularly those who are athletes. A study looking at athletes in the Big 10 (college athletes) found mycarditis in 2.3% of their athletes after COVID-19 infection. (https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamacardiology/fullarticle/2780548)

This adds to other evidence collected thus far which has shown that incident rates for myocarditis for the vaccines is about 4,000 times lower than it is for COVID-19 infection.

I think the smart policy here would be to more closely monitor anyone who fits the profile for higher risk of vaccine-induced myocarditis and possibly avoid the second shot if they show significant clinical presentation. However, the vast majority of cases of myocarditis resolve without intervention. The individual simply rests from strenuous activity for a period and they’re fine.

These are decisions that parents should be making alongside the advice of their pediatrician. The vaccines should be available, but there will always be cases where individuals show a particular risk factor that changes that risk/benefit calculation.

In, to witness the FR VPs recommending the same thing as CDC/FRAUDci, with these risky shots.

I have said before men under 30 need to carefully weigh risks and benefits if the vaccine for them but that their risk of covid is also not zero. Not sure why you are pinging me

Complete and utter madness.

No college age kids and I don’t make the policy. Not all colleges require them the ones that do need to answer to parents and students

Since young people are not at risk for Covid, and since no one needs to inject biowarfare agents into their bodies voluntarily, I think it’s pretty easy to conclude NO ONE NEEDS this vaccine.

Instead, there are safe, effective medications which cut the risk of hospitalization and death from Covid by 85%. There always has been safe medications available, the CDC and FDA simply withheld them from dying people to ensure a body count. They still discourage the use of medications in order to keep people dying and to cause the most severe illness levels possible. If treated, one can avoid long term damage and death.

But the young were never really at risk so....these ‘vaccines’ target young men of military age. I wonder why China would provide a genome which pharma companies sat around and waited for to use for our vaccines, and then China went and used the live virus for their vaccines.

It’s almost as if China is targeting young men of military age, isn’t it?

No one is required to go to a college that makes these mandatory. A college is simply a business selling a product (education and a degree). If you don’t like any of the conditions of going to that college (location, uniforms, cost, class offerings, etc.), go to another college.

This has always been the conservative answer to “I don’t like that this business is doing X”: go somewhere else. If enough people agree with you, the policy will change or the business will shut down. If not, your opinion isn’t shared by the free market. In either case, let the free market decide.

Now if the government were enforcing mandatory COVID-19 vaccination for college kids, that would be a different story. But nobody’s being forced into anything. Make a choice that works for you.

“Most at risk are young males (~12 - 30)”

Why are young males or young people period getting Jabbed for a disease that they are effectively immune to.

Do you have any concept of what happens in a child's body in the 12 - 17 cohort during their developmental phase.

This is where the data is

https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/acip/meetings/downloads/slides-2021-06/03-COVID-Shimabukuro-508.pdf

starting on page 27.

The data observed are all ER visits and most are admissions. Anything that sends you to the ER is not “mild” and history on this condition is that somewhere around 1 in 5 of those who end up in the ER or admitted with this condition have enough serious and permanent damage that within five years they require a heart transplant and, if they don't get one, they die.

Heart transplant recipients have a one-in-three mortality within five years; the annual risk of death is approximately 4% per year on a forward, permanent basis.

You are advocating for the crippling of a future generation for no perceivable benefit.

So a first generation college student should forego admission to an Ivy League?!

That’s a decision for the college student and their parents to make. Is Ivy League something we should all be aspiring to? I don’t think so. I think it’s mostly a waste of money, aside from the contacts you make. And those contacts only help for specific niches like politics.

From an educational perspective, 2 years at a community college and 2 years at a state school will get you everything the Ivy League does at about 1/50th the price. But hey, if you really want to go to an Ivy League school, then be prepared to pay 50 times more money and get your COVID-19 shot.

It’s a business selling a service and all of them have pros and cons. Make your choice; vote with your dollars. Let the free market decide who’s right and who’s wrong. If nobody shows up to Harvard in the fall because of a COVID-19 vaccine requirement, Harvard will drop the requirement. If kids start dropping dead at the University of Maine because of COVID-19 and people withdraw in mass numbers, chance are they’ll be adding a requirement. Let the market decide the winners. Participate in the market.

2a now you’re just being ridiculous. These are being increasingly mandated across the board for all ages, and not all people and families are in a situation where they have that many options.

Because you express more disdain for Covid vaccine skeptics than you do with the powers that be at Pfizer and our own government who choose to err on the side of gambling with young hearts and lives. They can’t even be bothered to adjust the dosage or delay the 2nd dose.

And nobody in CDC or elsewhere seem particularly motivated to get to the bottom of how Covid started in the first place. 🙄
