Missing pet dog returns home in the middle of the night and presses family's doorbell-The 18-month-old dog had apparently been spooked by fireworks

It turns out, dogs know how doorbells work.

A couple in South Carolina worried about their lost dog were surprised when their doorbell rang in the middle of the night. They were even more shocked when it turned out that their beloved pet had not only returned home but had also figured out how to use the electronic device.

Mary Lynn and her husband, Ryan, say that their dog Rajah got spooked by fireworks and escaped from their backyard in Greenville, Southwest News Service (SWNS) reports. For seven hours, the worried couple searched for the dog but could not find her.

Then, around 3 in the morning, Rajah walked up to the house’s front porch and rang the doorbell with her nose.

More likely he was scratching at the door and accidently hit the door bell.

Ding-ding. Ding-ding, ding-ding.

"Damn neighborhood kids!"

Our large Siamese Flame Point cat owns our street which is a wooded circle with close homes and small lots. He has preferred neighbors. He rings their doorbells all the time if he wants a visit.

Pets have very little to do besides study us.

Did the dog leave a burning bag of cat poop on the front porch after ringing the door bell?

Of course, and the dolt Anthony mason on cbs was amazed saying they never even trained the dog to ring the door bell, as if it was intentional, good grief.

Thousands of dogs will be terrified by fireworks this week and never come home again.

I’ll have to stay home the whole time because locals shoot off huge pro grade stuff out here where the fire marshals can’t catch them.

They’ve been “getting in the mood” the last two weeks by shooting guns after dark.

My dogs are already jacked up.

Daughter mounted a small Christmas bell on the frame of their back door...Her dog, Griswald, knows to smack that bell when he wants to go out...

When we lived in North Carolina, an old golden retriever would show up at our house every July 5th for several years. The family would go to the beach for the week of the 4th and somehow the dog made its way roughly 2 miles through the country to our house after he would jump the back fence. After the first year, they knew to pick him up at our house. Don’t recall if they ever offered to pay for kenneling him.

That sounds like the Coeur d’Alene, ID scene.

I’m always amazed at the huge amounts of money people burn up on fireworks.

Last year, the people just up the road sought to avoid detection by shooting their fireworks *horizontally* from their back yard down into the stand of trees at the bottom of the ridge.

What could possibly go wrong?

The idiots up on the ridge happen to be my relatives, that I don’t associate with.

The stuff they set off rivals the fireworks they use at the Antietam Battlefield display.
They have money to burn, literally.

If they set the ridge on fire, we will be in dire peril from a blaze that the fire department will have a hard time reaching.

Dogs watch us and the things we do, they understand more than what you think. They watch us turn a door knob to open a door, they understand and can learn on their own how to do that also.Never underestimate what an animal can learn to do on their own.

I forgot to mention that the stand of trees is right beside a barn full of horses.

I can’t imagine.
