Americans who do not plan to get vaccinated are more likely to participate in Fourth of July activities, a new survey from consumer insights firm Numerator found.
About 65% of US adults have received at least one vaccine dose as of Friday, according to The New York Times tracker - a number below President Joe Biden's vaccination goal of 70% by July 4.
Despite increased vaccination levels, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention is still urging unvaccinated Americans to avoid large crowds and practice social distancing from people outside of their household. Earlier this year, Dr. Anthony Fauci warned if cases start to surge again the CDC would be forced to pull back public health measures.
In the survey of over 2,000 Americans, the group found that 64% of unvaccinated individuals plan to celebrate normally as compared to 49% of fully vaccinated US residents. Many plan to host family gatherings, as well as attend large-scale public events like parades and fireworks festivals.
Respondents from regions with lower vaccination rates, including Southern and Midwestern states, were also more likely to engage in Independence Day plans, according to the survey.

Personally I’m not celebrating. It’s a sad day. The country is fading fast.
This is a setup to blame those who don’t get injected with the poison for all cases that are recorded after Independence Day.
I agree with that, it would be silly to celebrate something that doesn’t currently exist, namely a country based on Christian values and the Constitution.
No patriotic displays for me either, as long as the thief and da ho still squat in our House. No flag in front of the house.
I will celebrate the 4th quietly...more in a sad remembrance and curse what has happened.
It’s all about the character of the people. John Adams famously said that, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Yet how many “conservatives” over the years have focused their political energies only on temporal issues like marginal tax rates, refusing to touch what they referred to as “social issues?”
Every time a politician on the right shied away from discussing issues like abortion, or “gay rights”, or “transgenderism”, to name just a few, they were themselves driving another nail into America’s coffin. They were guaranteeing the “triumph of evil”, to paraphrase Edmund Burke, by simply refusing to oppose it. And my strong suspicion is that many on the right blew off the notion of addressing “social issues” because they themselves were guilty of dabbling in many of the same sins. Better not to even look in that closet and just go on campaigning on tax rates and regulation.
Problem is, once the people have become thoroughly morally corrupt, you lose everything, including the “kitchen table” issues.
In other breaking news:
Paranoid people avoid public places and crowds
Germaphobics avoids touching things
Acrophobics avoid high places
I’ll be working(I volunteered), but if I wasn’t working, I’d celebrate it. I like to think of the situation like “The Grinch who stole Christmas.” If we don’t celebrate Independence day, then the left has won.
“House. No flag in front of the house.”
I replaced Old Glory with Gadsden on Nov. 4. (No problems, yet.)
Well said
Me too.
Mine's flying upside down. Drives the HoA idiots here crazy. American flags are ok to fly here, they don't specify whether or not they have to be flown "the right way" ... malicious compliance. It's a thing with me.
And according to the HoA rules, they cannot change the rules to target one person, so there isn't jack squat they can do about it.
The globo-tyrannical Independence Day:.
Independence from white supremacist conservative political values, from having property, from the need for an income, from the need to eat livestock, from a functioning immune system, from fungible currency, from politics-free sports, from books, from religious dogma...
If only the Unvaccinated gather in groups, the Vaccinated homers should be celebrating alone and should be happy about it. If the disease were that bad, the “problem “ of the Unvaccinated would eventually die off.
So why do they insist on being such bossy pants, it was supposed to be a Covid vaccine (which it isn’t) not a Karen Vaccine.
“...many on the right blew off the notion of addressing “social issues” because they themselves were guilty of dabbling in many of the same sins.”
So true, so true. And it was reflected in the elected GOP who as you pointed out ceded the social issues ground to the left because GOP was only concerned about money and globalization. Leaving the issue of perjury aside, look how many wouldn’t demand BJClinton resign for taking advantage of an unpaid intern ... no company CEO doing the same thing would have survived if similarly situated. GOP didn’t because they too probably had similar skeletons in the closet.
Pay close attention to what the puppet in chief does on Independence Day. I’m betting his participation reflects his rejection of the principles of this country.
Excellent tracking.
Well done.
Unvaccinated = living life
Talk about a useless survey. Sheesh.
You cannot catch it outside due to UV and wind.
