Sunday on Fox News Channel’s “Life, Liberty & Levin,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) touted his state’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
DeSantis advised that had Florida not pushed back against lockdowns, and other states followed suit, the United States would look more like Canada right now, which he said would still be locked down.
“You just have so many threats to freedom nowadays, and what we’re doing is we’ve essentially Katy, barred the door to protect Floridians and to protect their freedoms and opportunities,” DeSantis told host Mark Levin. “And you see it in a number of different ways. Obviously, we were the leading state fighting against coronavirus lockdowns. We had kids in school, in person, for the entire school year. I believe had Florida not done that, you would not see the other states to have followed — Canada, for example, still locked down. And I think that’s what a lot of these bureaucrats wanted to see in the United States, and we made sure that we led in a different direction. You also look at things going against the Biden administration’s policies. They shut down our cruise industry, with the CDC. They didn’t have authority to do that. All these experts said, ‘Oh, you just have to do whatever the CDC says.’ We sued the CDC in Florida, and we won in federal district court. And now the cruise lines are going to be able to resume sailing this summer.”

They’re trying it again. LA is “recommending” indoor mask wearing for everybody, vaccinated people as well, because of the “delta variant” hype. As soon as I saw that the WHO had come out with this stupidity just this morning, I knew some of our insane leftists would leap for it right away.

Totalitarianism Kills. Forget that crap.
Granted things may be further along in Florida than most places but where I live in Canada, I would not describe this as “locked down” just not entirely back to normal. Some other provinces are more restricted than others at this point. We are also moving away from the worst of the restrictions and should be into a mask-optional status soon.
Locked down would mean bars and restaurants closed, many businesses closed, and churches not free to celebrate. We are only one out of three on that list, guess which one it is. (too easy?)
You can come to that picture anytime. We albertans aren’t playing nice with their rules.
The next President if 1) Donald Trump doesn’t run and 2) the election will be fair.
Actually Georgia was first. Governor Kemp wanted to start “opening” up the state and yes, President Trump warned him that he was not being prudent at the time.
