Chicago’s most iconic and picturesque roadway has a new name — and it’s a mouthful of history: Jean Baptiste Point DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
The Black man of Haitian descent who was Chicago’s first non-indigenous settler finally got the honor his champions say he has long deserved, thanks to an on-again, off-again compromise that was back on again — and approved — at a City Council meeting Friday.
Three Hispanic aldermen joined 12 white aldermen in voting against the compromise.

Yep, a high school, and a bridge, and a museum.
They wouldn’t settle for Midway being named after a black man, though, just like they wouldn’t settle for the Dan Ryan being renamed DuSable. They’ll demand to get O’Hare renamed Harold Washington Airport or something, just watch.

BFD! To most New Yorkers it's still “The Triborough” and “The Tappan Zee”...so to folks in Chicago it will still be “Lake Shore Drive”.
To: ConservativeStatement
Just like Sears Tower and Comisky Park, they can name it whatever they want but to those who live in the area, the name will never really change.

DuSable left the area before the city was founded.
He has no connection with the African American community other than his color.
If he were white he'd be denounced for genocide against the natives.

I was astounded to learn that a few years ago, Lindbergh Field, San Diego’s airport, was renamed San Diego International Airport, and a mural of Charles Lindbergh has been removed. Never mind his stupendous and historic accomplishments, he’s now apparently seen as some sort of “racist,” probably just for being white.

Pretty blue lights along the way don’t give a s**t about DuSable

We are being replaced Only if we let it happen ... only if we watch rather than act to stop the destruction of our Republic, just as the communist chinese cooties has done severe damage to our society.

It’s a continuing policy of appeasement, by people who seem to be convinced that there is a perpetual debt owed to a demographic. If only modern liberals had monasteries and convents to go to, so they could lock themselves in a single room cell and scourge themselves all day long for their sins, the rest of society would not have to deal with their problems and treatment.

“A. B——v has told how executions were carried out at Adak – a camp on the Pechora River. They would take the opposition members ‘with their things’ out of the camp compound on a prisoner transport at night. And outside the compound stood the small house of the Third Section. The condemned men were taken into a room one at a time, and there the camp guards sprang on them. Their mouths were stuffed with something soft and their arms were bound with cords behinds their backs. Then they were led out into the courtyard, where harnessed carts were waiting. The bound prisoners were piled on the carts, from five to seven at a time, and driven off to the ‘Gorka’ – the camp cemetery. On arrival they were tipped into big pits that had already been prepared and
buried alive. Not out of brutality, no. It had been ascertained that when dragging and lifting them, it was much easier to cope with living people than with corpses.
“This work went on for many nights at Adak.

“ Why aren’t they upset that Jean Baptiste Point du Sable was an evil colonizer who killed the indigenous peoples? ”
Because he wasn’t white.
White people (who are not gay or other even more extreme forms of pervert) are universally evil. Nonwhite people are universally good.
Feeling like a Jew during the Reich yet?

How long before they get rid of ‘San Diego’? Can’t have “Saint “ as part of a city’s name. Speaking of Saints, St Louis Airport (Lambeau Field to Obama, Lambert Field to everyone else) has a full-sized replica of Lindbergh’s Spirit of St. Louis hanging from the ceiling. Wonder if it will have to come down.

The ridiculously long street name will make it easier for travelers to get lost and end up in the wrong neighborhood, where they can be robbed and pay reparations.

There is some justification to purging Lindbergh. He was a Nazi supporter and even received a medal from Hitlers regime.
