Vaccines: When the boomer generation’s wisdom meets the millennials’ will to submit
American Thinker ^ | 25 Jun, 2021 | Patricia McCarthy

Saddest of all is that multi-millions of Americans revealed that they are sheep at heart and will comply with whatever nonsense the Biden administration demands.

After fifteen months of medical and media propaganda, every family in the nation has a sense of either trust and confidence in the government’s information on the subject of COVID or, among those who are naturally suspicious of government dictates, a thorough distrust of what the government and media spew 24/7.

The do’s and don’ts of COVID, like politics, have proven destructive to family and friendships. To quarantine or not. To mask or not. To social distance or not. To vaccinate or not. Should one submit to the government mandates or resist? The lockdowns and quarantines made sense or they did not.

Why are there experimental vaccinations for a disease that is easily treatable with proven existing and inexpensive drugs? Why are the media/government pushing the vaccines so aggressively? Why are the media and big tech conspiring and uniting to suppress any and all scientific and medical commentary that has opposed the lockdowns, mask mandates and vaccines?

Was the entire covid nightmare a planned conspiracy to defeat President Trump? That, ladies and gentlemen is the key, awful question. That Wuhan lab run by the military wing of the Chinese Communist Party was and most likely remains ground zero for the weaponization of viruses. Hillary Clinton knew that in 2009. Has she spoken out over the last year? No, she has not.

Yep.

Should have Nurenburg type trials.

Trump is just a speedbump on the country’s slide

Exactly! People that cannot see this are willingly ignorant (Luke 21:36)

"I think a 'vaxxer' is as foolish for participating in this experiment as much as you think an 'antivaxxer' is foolish for not participating in this experiment."

It's interesting that you don't see the flaws in that argument. People can see the differences on average, though, between vaccinated people and convinced recipients of speech from anti-vaxxers.

Anti-vaxxers are splitting the conservative vote and sickening the minority of less educated conservatives younger than 60 years of age.

"Refusing this shot does not make one an antivaxxer. That’s a childish red herring."

Being afraid of the shot makes one a victim of antivaxxers.

You are wrong on several essential points as regards my "flawed" argument:

-- I am not an "anti-vaxxer". Your false characterization is not only incorrect, it reveals a lack of thoughtful consideration of what I wrote. I've had many vaccines -- many shots -- and have decided, after careful consideration, not to receive a few, including this one as well as the annual flu shots. My immune system is healthy, I take many supplements to keep it healthy, and see no need for me to receive these few injections. Also note that although I may comment on the annual flu and on the covid shots, I don't make demands on anyone else not to take them. Whether another decides to take them or not is actually none of my business.

-- I truly do not understand your connection between taking or not taking the covid shot with "splitting the conservative vote" ... unless you think that conservatives must behave like leftists and walk in lockstep with the loudest voices. Rather, I think conservatives have the ability, the strength of character to disagree -- thoughtfully disagree -- on something -- even an "important something" such as this -- without falling apart, without yielding to reflexive emotion.

-- And finally, your statement that conservatives who, after thoughtful consideration decide the covid shot is not for them, are "sickening the minority of less-educated conservatives" is simply ludicrous. It's like believing that wearing a mask will protect you -- and everyone else around you -- from a respiratory virus particle. That's just preposterous. There can only be one conclusion to be derived from your thoughtless statement: That by not taking the covid shot I am deliberately "sickening" everyone else (though you seem concerned only if the people I am threatening are "less educated conservatives younger than 60 years of age" ... a public display of true compassion, I add sardonically) ... another tactic of the Left to support controlling healthy people who are somehow charged with the responsiblity to "take care of others."

Clearly you can see I do not take lightly your mischaracterization of what I so carefully presented ... but perhaps I am wrong ... perhaps you simply do not understand what I wrote because you did not look behind your own preconceptions. I truly -- and honestly -- hope that in light of these clarifications that you at least reflect on your response. I think we agree that we need every thoughtful conservative we can find to fight this war in which we are engaged with the enemies within whose primary objective is to destroy our Republic and along with it our Constitution and our American quality of life. Cheers!

Where did I call you an anti-vaxxer. Show us a quote.

"You are just plain wrong on so many levels"

Well done. That was probably the mildest personal insult I've received from your ilk here. Most of the insults were far nastier, and some of them, quite vulgar.

Thank you. Agreed. I’ll try to explain as to where I’m coming from, in case there was a misunderstanding due to background noise here.

I’m against the “lockdowns” that have been implemented in blue states and can only imagine trying to do business in those places. I’m in favor of each individual choosing to be vaccinated or not.

I also know of people in my locale who are disabled from believing the claims of anti-vaxxers: that if vaccinated, they would die from mad cow disease (the talk about prions, etc.) and many other frightful illnesses and conditions. ...and microchips...and “the Beast.” I disagree with the dissemination of that kind of information. Some have even implied with scolding that those of us arguing with anti-vaxxers are generally in favor of abortion, paid by the government, etc.

The political question here involves many of us who are not part of the culture of northeastern states or states west of Iowa. Our culture is different in important ways. Many of us adhere to American values that predate the 1960s. Many of us have little or no Catholic heritage. Do libertarians really want us to leave these forums?

See how many of us have been vaccinated. There are a whole lot of Trump voters over 65, who don’t like some of the things that President Trump said while being happy with the things that he did.

I also disagreed much with the Lin Wood conspiracy theory crowd that helped the Democrats beat us all in the Georgia runoff elections. Those two Republican Senate candidates would not have voted against our Second Amendment rights. The Democrats who were elected will do so.

A fine position paper your present, indeed. As I suspected, we agree far more than we disagree on these matters ... and we find ways to preserve a united front, though not necessarily or often in complete agreement which often times discourages advancement.

Ruminating early on a Monday before the week gets really busy again: The economic catastrophe brought about by the coordinated effort to "fundmentally transform" America has been exceeded only by the crushing devastation to our society -- our truly awesome "melting pot" -- brought on by 15 months of fear, ignorance and desperation generated by mandated separation, by compelled, if not blind obedience and by forced masking of healthy people which has created a sickening miasma of anger, distrust and distress among so many Americans and throughout our country. The deliberate harm inflicted deliberately on our society is, I think, much more of a disaster than is the deliberate economic damage because it is much more personal and has directly damaged the America spirit as well as our American quality of life ... the envy of most other nations.

But all is not lost as I experience Americans begin to crawl out of our 15-month covid stupor and begin to live as Americans again. We've a long way to go of course, and the scarring is deep and much of it may be permanent or take decades to fade yet, despite the setbacks and the unrelenting efforts by the enemies of America to "stay the covid course" of destruction and pain, I am increasingly hopeful that America will recover

Our enemies truly do not think our American Republic will survive their onslaught and that the world will be a better place if our American Republic did not exist. Well, we simply cannot allow these vicious enemies to learn the lessons of history by doing what they do best -- destroy the good and elevate the evil. Our Republic must survive lest a billion innocent people around the world pay a terrible price.
