As Sebastian Gorka put it, that right there is a reason to buy new guns. I had an M1 Carbine before I lost it in that boating accident, might break down and buy an AR-15 once I can find one and some ammo for it.

The 5.56 is a great self defense round, but don’t overlook the simplicity of a .338 Lapua boltie with a 20x Leupold scope.
Both are readily available.
Recently what I’ve found is the AR-15 .223 ammunition is starting to show up but the price is very expensive, but you can get the ammunition now..
