While wind turbine and solar power platforms are beginning to take to the sea, another, more established form of power might also avoid hiking real estate costs.

A Copenhagen-based startup just raised funding to the sum of eight figures in Euros to begin construction of a new kind of cheap, flexible, portable, and unyieldingly safe nuclear reactor, according to a press release shared by the company, Seaborg Technologies.

...Called Compact Molten Salt Reactors, the new reactors are roughly the size of a shipping container,

This is a Uranium based play. We have 5 times the Thorium that we do Uranium, and no super-critical threat. TE will be a loser.

I get why they want to do this - you get Plutonium out the other end. All U based plants are really Plutonium breeders.

Decades ago, the USDA ran several experiments irradiating a variety of fresh vegetables, strawberries, and, meat, if I recall correctly.

The unwashed masses went bonkers opposing the idea.

Is that like the old nuke them until they glow, and shoot them in the dark, trick?

My sister living in Belgium sent us a case of irradiated cream. We thought it was a Christmas gift and put it in the closet for about three months.

When my sister arrived before Christmas she asked about the cream??? OH crap!. Sorry, we’ll throw it away.

She said no it should still be good.

It was delicious!
