The deadly storm Claudette strengthened Monday morning to regain its tropical storm status as it approached the Carolina coast.
Thirteen people in Alabama died Saturday in storm-related conditions, including eight children in a multi-vehicle crash.
The children who died were in a van for a youth home for abused or neglected children. The vehicle crashed and burst into flames on Interstate 65 about outside of Montgomery, according to the Associated Press.
An official said the vehicles likely hydroplaned.
The two other victims in the weekend crash have been identified as Cody Fox, 29, and his 9-month-old daughter, Ariana; both of Tennessee. They were in separate vehicles from the van, the wire service also reports.

Not that I know of. The season started on June 1st................
it is up and down on tropical storm strength and I don’t even recall A and B this year.

They get named when they reach tropical storm status, 40 mph winds sustained and circular motion. Where they are or where they go is irrelevant. Even if they never touch land, ships and aircraft are concerned................
Joe Bastardi, from WeatherBell, predicted this exactly on Friday.
He said the storm hits and then strengthens before hitting the Carolinas.
Bastardi is one of the most accurate weathermen out there and he is a fierce opponent of the man-made climate change garbage.
He predicted that it would get hot and dry in the West in February. He rightly predicted the communists would blame it on man-made climate change when it is a pattern he has seen multiple times.
He didn't say BEFORE. He said WHEN. And, it is heading Northeast--away from the Carolinas.

Actually, on the Saturday summary two weeks before last Saturday, he predicted when, where, and with what intensity this storm would hit. At the time of his prediction it was a thunderstorm on the west coast of Mexico. He is good.
Is it going out to sea or heading north?
I have not given this storm any attention.
