KITCHENER -- A woman in her 90s living in a Kitchener long-term care home has died from COVID-19, marking the first related death in a fully immunized person in Waterloo Region.
On Sunday, health officials said the Village of Winston Park long-term care home is currently going through a COVID-19 outbreak.

95% means that for every 100 vacinated 5 will still get it, and a certain percentage of those might die.
So, this is not surprising at all.
100 = 5
1000 = 50
10000 = 500
and if 1% of those who get it, die that’s 5 that might die for every 10,000 fully vacinated.

Its actually a CFR (Case Fatality Rate) of 0.1% for unvaccinated or slightly less than the Flu with a CFR 0.15% but a CFR of 0.64% for vaccinated. That's a factor of 6.

There is an even bigger protective factor, for how many cases even occur among vaccinated vs. unvaccinated. About 20.
Then those fewer cases resolve with the lower fatality rate.
