The day that the intolerant k.d. lang refused to meet Meat Loaf - who was a vegetarian at the time - simply because of his name!
Out on the Internet ^ | Meat Loaf sold over | 40 million albums

Why is it that so-called "woke liberals" who always claim to be tolerant are always the least tolerant people of all?

They are always so angry all the time, always going out of their way to take offense, and above all, they hate to see other people happy.

Now Meat Loaf (real name Marvin Lee Aday) is a pretty affable kind of guy who never meant anybody any harm. Despite his vast success in the music business (over 40 million albums sold!), he's still a regular guy who likes people. Like many of us, he's a bit oversized and has tried various methods of taking off weight, including a try at vegetarianism during the 1980s.

Not that he tried to push it on anybody else. The poor guy probably just wanted to fit into a pair of pants that didn't have an elastic "comfort-fit" waistband. Who among us never just wanted to pull a pair of 32 inch jeans off the rack at The Gap and just put them on like a regular person?

Speaking of jeans, he moved his family from tony Westport, CT to blue-collar Redding, CT because his daughter was given a hard time at school for the type of jeans that she was wearing.

By the way, Meat Loaf coached youth sports in both Connecticut towns he has lived in. Yes, Meat Loaf, rock superstar, took time to show kids how to field grounders and pull off a double play. How can you not like a guy like that?

During his vegetarian phase, Meat Loaf was sitting with Jon Bon Jovi at once of those music award shows, probably around the late 1980s to early 1990s, and spied the estrogen challenged Kathryn Dawn Lang (a/k/a k.d. lang) who looks like a young John Lennon on a good day.

Now Meat Loaf was a fan of her music, which is actually quite good, at least during the 1988-1992 period, when she was putting out albums like "Shadowland" and "Absolute Torch And Twang."

Despite the weirdness of k.d. Lang, a lifelong vegetarian who supports extremist groups like PETA, one could certainly appreciate her music and Meat Loaf, a fellow vegetarian at the time, simply wanted to meet her to show his appreciation for her works.

However, that was not to be. For when Lang was told that Meat Loaf would like to meet her, she snarled "No! His name is Meat Loaf!"

Understandably, Meat Loaf was no longer a k.d. lang fan after that. I don't blame him one bit, she seems like a perpetually angry person with a toxic and intolerant personality.

As for Meat Loaf, I don't care what his diet is, he seems like a decent guy all around.

Keep your bacon shakin’ and don’t let your meatloaf.

Both artists did some great work.

Father Time sits on some folks harder than others, often due to poor life choices.

I don’t know Katy Lang (I’m not doing the whole lower case thing) but I have met her.

She was a pleasant person to me and everyone else.

I don’t think she was half the weirdo everyone said she was.

Now Natalie Merchant... everyone thinks she’s normal. No no no no no

Natalies Merchant, she's the one that ran with 10,000 Maniacs.

Another trendy late 1980s/early 1990s act. They had some good songs.

I used to have that book on cats.

One of the cartoons says “Cats can see things we can’t”, as the cat is staring at nothing.

Oh I would do anything for fans,
I’d get writers cramp signing my name and that’s a fact,
Yes I would do anything for fans,
I would play an extra encore and have grandma on stage,
Fans are where it’s at!

Yet when these snowflakes want me to change my name,
I won’t do, no way!
I would do anything for fans,
But I won’t do that!

Meatloaf was a great singer. And his arrangements were amazing - powerful, driven, perfect.

And, good Lord, Karla Devito held up her end. “I’d do Anything for Love” was terrific musical dialog.
