Why is it that so-called "woke liberals" who always claim to be tolerant are always the least tolerant people of all?
They are always so angry all the time, always going out of their way to take offense, and above all, they hate to see other people happy.
Now Meat Loaf (real name Marvin Lee Aday) is a pretty affable kind of guy who never meant anybody any harm. Despite his vast success in the music business (over 40 million albums sold!), he's still a regular guy who likes people. Like many of us, he's a bit oversized and has tried various methods of taking off weight, including a try at vegetarianism during the 1980s.
Not that he tried to push it on anybody else. The poor guy probably just wanted to fit into a pair of pants that didn't have an elastic "comfort-fit" waistband. Who among us never just wanted to pull a pair of 32 inch jeans off the rack at The Gap and just put them on like a regular person?
Speaking of jeans, he moved his family from tony Westport, CT to blue-collar Redding, CT because his daughter was given a hard time at school for the type of jeans that she was wearing.
By the way, Meat Loaf coached youth sports in both Connecticut towns he has lived in. Yes, Meat Loaf, rock superstar, took time to show kids how to field grounders and pull off a double play. How can you not like a guy like that?
During his vegetarian phase, Meat Loaf was sitting with Jon Bon Jovi at once of those music award shows, probably around the late 1980s to early 1990s, and spied the estrogen challenged Kathryn Dawn Lang (a/k/a k.d. lang) who looks like a young John Lennon on a good day.
Now Meat Loaf was a fan of her music, which is actually quite good, at least during the 1988-1992 period, when she was putting out albums like "Shadowland" and "Absolute Torch And Twang."
Despite the weirdness of k.d. Lang, a lifelong vegetarian who supports extremist groups like PETA, one could certainly appreciate her music and Meat Loaf, a fellow vegetarian at the time, simply wanted to meet her to show his appreciation for her works.
However, that was not to be. For when Lang was told that Meat Loaf would like to meet her, she snarled "No! His name is Meat Loaf!"
Understandably, Meat Loaf was no longer a k.d. lang fan after that. I don't blame him one bit, she seems like a perpetually angry person with a toxic and intolerant personality.
As for Meat Loaf, I don't care what his diet is, he seems like a decent guy all around.
Best voice of any of the rockers.
LOL
I googled KD Lang. That’s one ugly dude!
Health problems caused Jim Steinman to do the vocals in the awesome album “Bad For Good” instead of Meat Loaf but he later did the songs himself.
Steinman’s version was great but Meat Loaf’s are incredible.
Crap.
I just read that Steinman died in April.
Dammit.
:(
There’s a photo at this link, I’m not responsible for any broken monitors.

Peewee Herman is not aging well.
Irony is beyond the ken of most liberals.
Oh good grief !
You actually want proof of this story;
as if anyone would go to the trouble to manufacture it? And as if anyone cares whether you or anyone else believes it ?
Weak/silly think.
She prefers fish.
Fish tacos.
Meat Loaf wasn’t the first choice for the part of Eddie in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” A famous singer was backstage at the Broadway version of what became the movie. He loved the show. There were talks between the people who ran the show and the singer’s people. But they never came to anything. So Meat Loaf got the part instead of Elvis.
Tolerance is and always has been a one way street with liberals.
version is a bit too long
How did he get his stage name? There’s several different versions of the backstory on that, all told by him. I saw him on several talk shows and he tells a completely different story every time.
This is nothing more than an obscure rock and roll anecdote that I came across in my web surfing earlier today. I thought it was quite amusing (and sad) that k.d. lang would refuse to meet a famous fan of hers on account of his nickname!
Such an insufferable scold and indicative of the toxic hate and intolerance that the Left spews out daily.
For that other Freeper, I did put a link in the header and I guess he/she could go over to the Wikipedia article on Meat Loaf and read it there too in the Personal Life section.
Not that Wikipedia should be considered a serious source but when it comes to leftist "entertainers" (like k.d. lang), you can bet that Wikipedia would have pulled it down if it wasn't true.
However he got the nickname, it predated his rock career.
