That has always intrigued me, too. And if I had been left to my own devices and living alone in my Log Cabin home in Tennessee, I was planning on either a composting toilet or the one that incinerates everything. Both of which could eventually be used in the garden, I’d think!
And, after years in the Army, I would chose YOUR method over digging yet another Latrine in the wild, LOL!
Also, look how many years we used Outhouses? No one thought that was anything but practical and better than a chamber pot!

P.S. ‘MetroGrow’ which you will see spread/sprayed on farm fields all over the Midwest, is human waste that has been processed. Milorganite (pelleted) is human waste, and makes a great lawn fertilizer - lots of Nitrogen!
So, SOMEONE is doing this on a large scale - why not you on a smaller one? ;)
I have one of those spools of twist ties, but I find them too ‘sharp’ to use for tomato and pepper stems. I don’t want anyone getting cut if we have a really windy day.
What do you use them for?

‘Ruby Throated.’ Those are the ones I have here in SW Wisconsin. So far just one male; the rest have been females.
Got a couple of tomato plants with some leaf curl going on. May have to rip em out.
Now I see a couple of pepper plants doing the same thing but I think those are from stress since we had some hot days.
Just tomatoes and we don’t do them tight. Our peppers never need support.

They don’t look like the mushrooms around my part of the country (Southern California) - but I have mushroom grief of my own. They pop up under my trees in the back just under the mulch, I can’t see them but my puppy does - he grabs them and runs around the yard. I’m terrified they’re poisonous - no one has been able to identify them yet.
They’re whitish gray and look like store-bought mushrooms. If I can find a fresh one, I’ll post a photo of it.
Decided to try some coleus this year, they hate hot weather, but I have them in a shady location. So far so good:
I also have this giant hollyhock, one of my favorite flowers - I've never seen one so large with five or six stalks of deep purple flowers:

‘Nigra’ Hollyhock. One of my faves. I had a lot of Hollyhock established at my other farm - thanks for the reminder to get some blooming on THIS farm, too. :)

Serious request.....need advice to get rid of a newer yellow jacket nest in the corner of one of my raised beds (Hugh traffic area.
I just tried running water in it for an hour with no luck.
They chose a spot directly next to a lavender plant in one of veggie beds.
I don’t want to pour any chemicals in yjere.
