So yes, if you count all the vaccine related posts on FR, it gives a false impression. It is the same 175 anti-vaccine posters with multitude of posts.

Actually, we understand basic biology - we know what viruses are and how they reproduce, we know what mRNA is, we know what ribosomes are, etc. We did our research on these vaccines. We don't rely on those so-called "experts", some of whom that have been cited as evidence deny the very existence of viruses in total - including polio, and deny the existence of appendicitis, saying every case is merely constipation.
It’s not 99.85% survival. Many family members of a colleague of mine are anti-vaxxers. The upshot was his own brother dying of the Made in China virus two weeks ago. He was 53 years old.

@ 16 that’s good news! Having seen some of your posts, we likely have many differences, but I know we both want the vaccines to be effective and safe. It has been a long year and a half. All this garbage needs to just be done with. Cheers

It does NOT have a “99.85% survival rate” unless you use *I*FR vs *C*FR, which everyone knows makes ASSUMPTIONS about the number of people actually infected.
Hmmm..funny thing. Multiply the denominator by 10 or 100 and the resulting percentage drops accordingly.
Now if you want to talk CASE Fatality Rate, that’s 1.7 - 1.8%. (See https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/. But as people who have been paying at least a little bit of attention know, it’s not just death you have to worry about with COVID. Approximately 25% (recent reports) of people who “recover” have serious long term health impact. And THAT is what you need to worry about.
If one questions anything vaxx on FR,the peanut gallery on both sides erupts into madness. It is the strangest long term issue I have seen here.

That's because we don't respect said "experts" when the vast majority of them are whackadoodle and many of them are simply trying to cash in on vaccine fears by selling seminars that scare people, vitamins, alternative treatments, etc.
On a fundamental level I worry it shows the rot in our society.
Americans, especially conservatives, believe in truth. That the world is not relative but there is a fundamental and knowable reality. The twin pillars of American greatness have been Biblical truth and scientific truth.
It started as a radical movement on the left, but the idea that there is no truth has infected the right.

You realize it’s been well over a year (about 15 months) since the first shots were given, right? And that those people are also still fine?
Maybe. They’re in a difficult position in the US and I’m not sure they’ll actually try to enter the US market any time soon. At least not until they have a “booster” for the variants. The problem is that the US market is saturated and they have terrible timing. An EUA is only allowable under certain circumstances. I believe (and I could be wrong here) that once the FDA issues a BLA for other vaccines, EUAs will become unavailable. So Novavax now needs to jump directly to a full BLA. Given their already significant problems just getting an EUA application out the door, I don’t know that I’d count on them getting a full BLA this year.
More likely, they’ll be selling their product overseas. It’s not quite as lucrative, but there’s a lot more buyers and a lot less red tape.
Well, that's a bummer... I've already started whining to my Doc about it.. That's the one that me and mine are willing to take a chance on.. The others, not so much.. :(
