'Little slice of hell': Colorado home destroyed by ex-tenant who covered it with obscene graffiti and feces and left behind a freezer full of rotting meat hits the market as a 'fixer-upper' for $590,000

'If you dream of owning your own little slice of hell and turning it into a piece of heaven, then look no further!' the listing says, but warns: 'This house is not for the faint of heart but for that special person who can see through the rough diamond to the polished gem inside.'

Listed as an 'investor special,' the 3,598 square-foot home is filled with graffiti that includes the message 'evict me bitch' spray painted onto a door and a freezer full of rotten meat left behind in the basement

Foster said the carpets were also 'saturated with urine' and the former tenant, who was a woman who owned a lot of pets, left two of her cats to die in one of the home's bathroom after she was evicted

'In decades of being a real estate agent and a landlord, nothing could of prepared me for what I was about to encounter' she ominously says before entering the home.

Multiple public caning minimum.

Punish them now, trial later.

Handyman special!

Seriously though, the person who did this needs to be sentenced to doing all the labor required to repair the damages. Get them on their hands and knees and have them scrub, scrub, scrub.

Owners had not checked into the property for 10 years (lived out of state) , tenant moved out and somone else moved in and stopped paying rent years prior.

Property owner is an idiot.

I once owned a rental house. It is gone now and I never want another one.

Nobody could ever convince me owing a rental is a good investment. Never. Not now. Maybe once upon a time in a land far far away when people had some modicum of dignity, respect and fear of punishment but not now.

can’t they find this person and arrest her. They must know her name, at least.
We have a rental that we want to sell, before this crap happens to US! Our tenants are great, but if they leave us.......

Looking at the pictures it could be fixed up with quite a bit of patience and elbow grease. Replace the carpeting, fix the deck and remove the freezer full of rotting meat and you might have a real house again. Oh, and maybe about $40K in cash for repairs.

So not only do we give them free rent, but they hate us and destroy the place they lived in on our dime.

I would never become a landlord today. You are considered to be an oppressor and your tenants feel that they deserve a place to rent and you are to provide it to them with your work and money.

The government illegally forces you to provide a place for nothing. It invalidated legal rental contracts and effectively stole your money. It’s all part of the great push to take money from those who earn it and give it to those who vote democrat.

I had a rental too. Renters had plenty of money for liquor and cigarettes but no money for rent.

Friend of mine rented a townhouse to a nutball that cut all 2x4s with an axe and the second floor collapsed on to the first and no one knows why

Property owner is an idiot.

There's a lot of that out there. A nice home near us has been empty for years. I heard that the owners died, and left it to a child who lives out-of-state. someone is paying taxes on it, and now paying fines from the town also, while the gutters have fallen off, there's a broken garage window and a tree growing-up through a crack in a the driveway. They could sell it for big gains too during this property bubble. Its just bizarre.

Wouldn’t the owner have insurance for this?

The pics didn’t load before I read, and the text said the tenant left two furry ones behind to starve to death, so I hope she burns in hell.

I often hear that property is a great investment. But then I hear so many stories like yours, I just don't get it. My only thought is that apartment buildings somehow are quite different from single-family homes in their upkeep, costs, and renters. I'm not in the business, so I don't know.

The owners had a property manager who did nothing. Looks like the property manager is disreputable and on the hook.

Tell you all what.
I tried to help another “conservative” who frequented this site and another site that was linked at this site.

I gave them a place to stay while they got on their feet so they could do something else.

What’d they do? They promptly got here, moved in, took over and got on state aid. In the meantime they decided to drill holes into my textured ceilings and hang stuff-dont have any clue WTH it was.

That took just two months and when I came down to check I found this crap all out and told them to GTF OUT! They called the cops and the cops told them it was a civil matter. I gave them four days to GTF OUT or I will take them out feet first. They got out.

Effn hippies.

Nobody could ever convince me owing a rental is a good investment.

Without exception, everybody I know that has been a landlord has had horror stories.

Real estate might be a good investment if you don't mind getting woke up at 2 in the morning for the heat not working or having to deal with a broken water heater that flooded the basement. And that's just the normal stuff.

Nope. Not for me. I'll just keep maxxing out my 401k and sit on the deck with my beer in my hand with a steak on the grill - like I'm doing right now.

Actually that will buff out quite well for a $100,000 reduction in price.

Foster said the property manager told the owner that the tenant filed a motion to be allowed back into the house to get her things after being evicted

well if they “filed a motion” then.. you know who they are, because it’s a court record.

Section 8 housing. Slums in the making. I call them incubators. The feds pay everything I guess. I would never stoop that low.

In spite of the feds having no hesitation in taking from me I don’t want any of their money. I just want mine back. Seller’s remorse all the way around for me these days with this country so-to-speak.

The only experience with renters I have had is BAD.
