Trump Executive Could Face Charges as Soon as This Summer
The Manhattan district attorney’s office appears to have entered the final stages of a criminal tax investigation into Donald J. Trump’s long-serving chief financial officer, Allen H. Weisselberg, setting up the possibility he could face charges this summer, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
In recent weeks, a grand jury has been hearing evidence about Mr. Weisselberg, who is facing intense scrutiny from prosecutors as they seek his cooperation with a broader investigation into Mr. Trump and the Trump Organization, the people with knowledge of the matter said. The prosecutors have obtained Mr. Weisselberg’s personal tax returns, the people said, providing the fullest picture yet of his finances.
Even as the investigation has heated up, it remains unclear whether the prosecutors will seek an indictment of Mr. Weisselberg, which would mark the first criminal charges stemming from the long-running financial fraud investigation into Mr. Trump and his family company.

Here’s his Twitter, I hound this jackass all the time demanding he resign for corruption........

Anyone remember when Biden and his boy, Merrick Garland, said you wouldn’t hear anything from this DoI?
That they’d be silent, like it’s supposed to be, they said.
We have about the third leak in 10 days, and he’s threatening the Audits.

Trump knows next to nothing about his finances...but I’ll bet he told this guy over the last two decades to do everything legal and by the book. They’re just trying to find made up stuff or sully Trump’s reputation with rumors and innuendo.
The investigation into Mr. Weisselberg focuses partly on whether he failed to pay taxes on valuable benefits that Mr. Trump provided him and his family over the years, including apartments and leased cars as well as tens of thousands of dollars in private school tuition for at least one of his grandchildren.

So the Clinton’s and Podesta’s get caught red handed, hiding millions, and are allowed to amend their taxes and nothing happens.
What this guy may or may not have done hasn’t even been decided. But his case could potentially go to a grand jury, where he can’t refute any of the corrupt testimony from Vance or James, and be indicted.
Got it.
I wonder if any of the legal minds on here could weigh in and opine on whether or not what the Clinton’s and Podesta’s did would be an affirmative defense.
Isn’t the tax code a federal thing? If so how would a State AG or county DA have jurisdiction over any of it? They could do an investigation, of course, but they would have to turn it over to the DOJ, wouldn’t they?
All because one man wanted to get things right. Insane.
From his Twitter:
“Cecilia helped shift our approach and guide our new policy to decline-to-prosecute prostitution and unlicensed massage this spring. We were honored to collaborate with her and we thank her for sharing her experiences with us.”
They keep this up, and people will want to visit New York.
This is the Manhattan DA, not the US DOJ.
“The work continues”
John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
New York State and City have their own income taxes.
Anyone notice how the democrat can’t wait to leak what they are doing to Trump and his allies.
Durham is so quiet.
I know that.
So they’re going after him on the state and city level?
Ok. Mr Vance and Ms James, please provide the court with other cases you’ve prosecuted in this manner. Oh, you can’t.
Here we have other cases, similar cases, and all of those folks were allowed to amend their taxes, pay what they owed and nothing else. Care to tell us what makes this one so special?
“The investigation into Mr. Weisselberg focuses partly on whether he failed to pay taxes on valuable benefits”
In general the IRS has 3 years assess taxes unless there is a 25% omission of gross income. (Or you fail to declare that you are on the board of, or are more than 50% owner in a foreign corporation on a specific form. Failure to do this opens you up for a something like 10 years worth of back audits if the IRS chooses to do so.)
I suspect that the statute to assess has probably run out on most of the perks he recieved unless the benefits exceed 25 percent of his gross.
Couple this with having to muck through amending all his federal and NY State returns and this probably falls in the category of vexatious litigation.
Ok Smarty Pants Pete, I had to look up vexatious litigation. Take it down a notch or two for us regular folks.
Anywho….. is that something a Prosecutor can legally do? I can understand if a pain in the a$$ down the street or a private attorney does it, but I find it hard to believe that a prosecutor, at any level, would be allowed to do this.
On a side note, thanks for the explanation.
And aren’t the Clintons still New York residents? So $3.6 billion in Haitian aid money disappears from the Clinton foundation which the Haitians protest to this day in NYC, and that warrants no investigation. But Trump gets investigated up the wazoo with absolutely no evidence of any wrong doing.
I am so sick of the double standard in this country and especially sick of Republicans who do NOTHING to fight back.
Nailed it.
Guess it would be hard for Vance or James to investigate the Clinton’s.
They’ e either been brought into the fold or they die a horrible death. Suicide. Home invasion. Carjacking. Plane crash. Helicopter crash. Something
Decisions, decisions.
