Academia’s Obsession with Racism

The objective of the BLM movement and its Marxist progenitors is to convince America that all social, political, and economic issues are grounded in race.

For the 2020-2021 admissions cycle, the English department at the University of Chicago only admitted graduate students committed to working in Black Studies. At the other end of the city, at Evanston’s Northwestern University, white students took to social media not only to confess their racism but also to pledge to do better.

Throughout America, faculty at colleges and universities are being required to enroll in modules (courses) on race relations, written with an eye toward critical race theory and the epistemology of Black Lives Matter.

These modules have various names, but among the most common is an oxymoron titled “inclusive excellence,” as if everyone can be excellent by being included. The object, of course, is for colleges and universities to enroll greater numbers of those who already receive preferential treatment based on ascribed characteristics.

Meanwhile, sacrosanct suppositions that represent critical race theory are increasingly becoming the norm on the college campus. Among these are: All whites are racists; systemic racism is the cause of a vast black underclass, and the legacy of slavery and Jim Crow explains every pathology to be seen in the black community.

Seldom, if ever, has a single factor explained such a complicated set of social forces.

Very simple. The marxists found that class division did not work well in the USA because of upward mobility so they turned their division tactics to race in a second effort. The professors teaching this are marxists too, or they are forced to teach it to keep their jobs.

America is the freest, wealthiest, and strongest nation in the history of the world. Because of this our enemies have never succeeded in bringing us down.

There is one flaw in America, and it is the racial divide. Slavery, Jim Crow, and the current gaps in well-being are real blemishes on America. The left sees this, and they see this flaw as the one gap in America’s armor that if pushed hard enough will destroy us.

I have my own theory about this. In my experience, wealthy white liberals are some of the most passively racist people I’ve ever met. They live in heavily segregated neighborhoods, and the only black people they ever encounter are the UPS and Amazon drivers who make deliveries to their homes and offices.

They latch onto this “equity” and “diversity” bullshit because they want to pretend it is something other than their own personal preferences — like “systemic racism,” for example — that makes blacks people unfit to live among them.

That is cultural. Many black students believe studying and learning is “acting white” and should be avoided.
