A brazen shoplifter was caught on video stuffing items into a garbage bag inside a San Francisco Walgreens and then pedaling off on his bike — in front of a security guard who simply recorded the theft on his phone.
The shocking footage, posted on Twitter by KGO-TV reporter Lyanne Melendez, shows the unidentified thief filling up on stolen goods as two people — one apparently a security guard — stand in the aisle with their phones out.
The crook then hops on his bike and pedals past the pair, with the guard making a failed attempt to grab the bag before the man bikes to the automatic front door and takes off.

Got to be a practical limit on how much you can steal via bike !
Had I been a customer I would have blind sided the biker thief into the shelving, stepped on the spokes in his wheels then kept on walking.......not my problem.
Shoplifters can be automatically billed before losing their membership and their sponsor is at risk as well. Anyone who's entering without authorization is guilty of trespassing.
Stores are also going to adopt the "drive-thru only" and/or "walk-up only" model. Long before COVID, McDonald's built a few restaurants that have walk-up windows and drive-thrus but no customer access to the interior.
He had to have shown his receipt or else the Wal Mart goon squad would have had to beat the crap out of him.

The laws were passed as a mini-reparations. The intention was so that the “oppressed” could waltz right in and take what is “rightfully” theirs from their “oppressors.”
The money the crooks make from stealing is not counted as income, so they continue to get their benefits from the government even they’re rolling in money.
We are the ones who pay, as always. And they call us “oppressors.”
Why does any business stay in SF?
“They will catch him later with the video evidence.”
Evidence is useless since this is in a jurisdiction that won’t prosecute.
They hit me up during the height of the Covid thing, one way roped off entrance/exit traffic. Started digging through my cart and checking items off on the receipt because they were sure I was a thief. They checked about 6 items and said “OK... you can go now” only because folks were piling up behind me.
I said absolutely not... We are going to pull every last item out of this cart and check it off to make sure I am not a thief. I took up the whole “cattle run” by stacking it all up in a line on the floor for them to check each and every item and put it back in the cart for me.
Good for you! If that’s the way they want to play then play that way. Make ‘em choke on it!
I love it when ribbing people falls flat.
Now that is absolutely true... Does that warrant an on the spot physical assault or death sentence for petty theft instead then?
The real problem with the idea is that Democrat governments with income taxes might try to impute income to individuals based on those “savings”.
Is that the same thing as a stinking lousy commie.??
Have a stick ready to push thru the spokes of the bike.
Several times they told me it wasn’t needed, I insisted that it was and made sure they did it anyhow.
What a quaint idea!
If it were my property, you’re damn right I’d physically assault him, if the authorities wouldn’t do anything about it. Once they abdicate their responsibilities, they leave private property owners to their own recourse.
And then your liability risk insurance triples... So who actually pays for it in the end? “Boy I sure taught him a lesson!”
Yeah... That lesson you taught him for stealing $20 worth of stuff will cost you thousands, maybe even tens of thousands in the long run.
For a business, it is a very serious and possibly costly policy decision to make...
