Through five starts this season, Colon is 3-1 with a 3.56 ERA.

Colon has maintained a determination to pitch in the majors again, citing a desire to surpass Hall of Famer Juan Marichal for most innings thrown by a Dominican-born player. At 3,461 2/3 innings, Colon stands 46 innings shy of Marichal.

...most innings thrown by a Dominican-born player...

That's a pretty selective record, but rock on Bartolo.

I am just going on longevity...to some degree I’m kidding, but in reality pitching in the major leagues into your late 40s is quite a feat.....

If you look at just the numbers in Baseball, Babe Ruth is far superior, but I never saw him play but Bartolo Colon looks like he should be playing beer league softball not getting major league hitters out...

How old was Satchel Paige the last time he pitched in a major league game? I read once that they weren't sure of his correct date of birth.

After no major league team would put him on its roster when he was 46, Rickey Henderson didn't want to stop playing baseball, so he played for a San Diego team called the Surf Dawgs which was below the minor league "A" level. His teammates were about half his age.

That’s all true, but Bartolo Colon like I said, he looks like he should be playing Beer League Softball on Tuesday Night in some recreation league, not pitching in MLB...

Since Babe Ruth's last major league game was May 30, 1935, or 86 years ago, probably there aren't a lot of people alive who can truthfully say that they saw Babe Ruth play.

Surprisingly fast reflexes, too. He’s had some very slick fielding plays even well into his “Big Sexy” years. And he has so much fun out there that it’s hard not to like the big guy.

MLB managers and GMs refuse to play “small ball” because sabermetrics show that it’s better to get a many walks and home runs as you can get.

Sabermetrics has sucked the life out of MLB.

Agreed. It’s not baseball with Sabermetrics.
