Colon, now 48 years old, hurled a complete game on Sunday for the Acereros de Monclova of the Mexican League on just 90 pitches. He surrendered two runs on five hits while notching seven strikeouts and walking one.

Through five starts this season, Colon is 3-1 with a 3.56 ERA.

Colon has maintained a determination to pitch in the majors again, citing a desire to surpass Hall of Famer Juan Marichal for most innings thrown by a Dominican-born player. At 3,461 2/3 innings, Colon stands 46 innings shy of Marichal.

Very much agree that the painfully, politically correct, woke Commissioner Rob Manfred has alienated many loyal fans from MLB. The man is a fool. Yet would love to see Bartolo Colon wear a Yankee uniform for the pitching depleted Yankees and pitch to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. two or three times.

MLB started to become a boring game beginning with the steroid era of the late 1990s, early 2000s. But it's gotten far worse the past decade or so. Home runs, strikeouts, walks, in-game delays (including numerous pitching changes), lowered batting averages. Ugh!
