My first thought was 'gotta keep the populace scared' and then remembered smoke from wildfires in Western Colorado and Utah headed this way..I concluded it was due to smoke.
in/near a what? "in/near a noticing" I don't know if I'm in/near a noticing.
yes i am in Wash DC suburbs and they flash this on the freeway. I do not remember this happening before.
I’m in the Denver area and have notice this too.
Democrats are in charge. They are much more gassy.
Air quality alerts depend upon the limits set for particular pollutants - if those limits have been adjusted lately (and they’re always adjusted down to lower acceptable values) either by federal or state regulatory agencies, the number of days exceeding the legal limits will go up. I have no idea whether that’s the case in your area.
Note also - some of the air quality pollutants have no obvious visible indications - everything doesn’t lead to smog.
Probably not applicable much to me as I live in the middle of a bunch of horse farms - VERY rural area of rural Florida, but my AQI is a steady 35-40, PM of 2.5, NO2 of 2, O3 of 38, and SO2 of 2. I guess that's good?
It's still hot and humid and the ragweed pollen is driving me sneeze-crazy...
As with most things weather related, it is best to go with your personal observations. Weather is over-hyped on every level. It as if they are going for ratings, and website hits rather than reporting the facts.
Um, near what?
Definitely!
The Weather Channel App constantly has us under an Air Quality Alert when there’s no Severe Weather Alert.
Definitely started noticing it this year. I just assume it’s part of the shift from the virus emergency hoax to the climate emergency hoax...
“...my phone has been going off a lot more from my weather app...”

Well; there’s your problem, right there.
Turn alerts “off” and you will be better off.
Yes, just mentioned this to my wife, there were unnecesary ozone warnings in some southeast Wisconsin counties last week. Our DNR needs something to do.
In near a city or metro area.... sorry
To me “Ozone action day” means “Really nice hot weather.”
My favorite days of summer!
The Clean Air Nazi’s in Yakima County are the worst and they love to wield their “power”.
They are already claiming 109 degree heat indexes on days in the 90s.
Ah ok. Nope, not in or near one. I moved away from “civilized society” for a reason, many actually.
Just may be conditioning people to accept the climate change agenda big time.
