The million dollar question:

Did they “adjust” their thresholds for such alerts to suit the new ‘climate change’ agenda?

“Are they conditioning us to stay inside ( like COVID )?”

It is not just about covid. The Left is conditioning us to be dependent on government bureaucracies and regulation. They are conditioning us to to distrust our own judgements.

They are jealous of our self-governing Republic and the rights that our Constitution affords us.

They are Marxists whose agenda is to convince us that Liberty is a failure. Capitalism is a failure. The Constitution is a failure.

They will point out problems anywhere they can - even if they have to invent them out of whole cloth.

Back in the 1960s and 1970s the US made great strides toward improving air quality and water quality, and eliminating pollution. We were very successful.

Some nations are way behind us and yes, we have to breath their air to some extent.

But the true agenda of the Left is not to save the planet from pollution - it is to weaken our self-governing Republic by regulating us into submission, and by using fear to get is to trade away our rights.

They stoke fear of climate change
They stoke fear of systemic racism
They stoke fear of “pandemic”
They stoke fear of the rich 1%
They stoke fear of anything - but they don’t really care about us.

It is a giant protection racket - they want us to empower them to “protect us” but once they have the power, protecting us is the last thing they care about.

They will never be satisfied that our air is clean enough, because that’s not what they are really after.

Could be a lowering of the standards.

The National Hurricane Center names a lot of minimal storms that would have never been named 25 years ago in order to increase the tropical storm count.

The ozone / air quality standards may have decreased in order to increase the number of alert days.

There is no increase in the number of “ozone alerts”, they just started sending cell phone notifications as an enhanced propaganda tool.

We live about 50-60 miles north of Gay Frisco, and have had bad air results off and on since the 1st of May.

Our current system is AccuWeather. We had another system with a private homeowner about 200 yards away with a private and expensive system connected to a net. That home owner sold his home and took his expensive system with him, about 2 months ago.

We have no idea where the AccuWeather station is.

This week so far the air is supposedly good and both my wife and I are having severe allergies since going to bed last night. In fact the good air supposedly runs from North of LA along the coast into Oregone.

There are no warnings about allergies just the so called air quality, which has not been bad for the last 45 days or so.

Relatives about 50 miles away, both North and SE have noticed the same stuff. One relative said that AccuWeather has been part of the Gorebull Warming BS forever.

Now, that we are quote returning to Normal, might explain the Gorebull Warming/bad air day labels re the so called recent bad air days, that were not bad for us.

Interesting and valid responses.

I just found a close by Wunderground.com. and we are having a good air day.

What is interesting there were just a few stations in this part of town earlier this year. Now, there are 20 privately owned weather stations with local temps, combined with a radar screen going out a few miles.

Which means more people have bought into owning their own expensive systems for their property and are part of the local Wunderground.com system.

There are now 4 private stations in about a half mile radius. I can just keep my little Amazon tablet on and plugged into the nearest station for instant reality versus ????! The system updates every 4-10 seconds.

Where do you live?

I can understand wanting to monitor air quality on the West Coast, where you are plagued by forest fires.

Here on the East Coast, I do worry about air quality, but I never look it up.

I just assume I’m fine unless I am in the city, on a crowded freeway, or stuck behind the wrong truck - and I just avoid those situations if I can.

On the other hand, if it’s allergies I’m worried about - I can feel right away if it’s an extra bad pollen day without looking it up - and it doesn’t really affect my behavior much anyway. I just suffer a little more when I mow the lawn and reward myself with a beer.

The trouble is, I might be a little allergic to the hops in beer too. :-(

In Minnesota the land of 10,000 lakes you will see stories about a drought..... Near 20,000 lakes over 100 acres in size plus many more ponds and then the creeks and rivers.
No shortage of water but the lie will be told.

North of Gay Frisco.

The pollen/allergy count is important to those of us with allergies, (which might be about everyone.)

As you noted air quality if you live within a hundred miles from the ocean is a waste of time and money most days with our powerful sea breezes.

With major forest fires, you don’t need a service to tell you there is smoke in the skies and to try to avoid breathing it by staying indoors and wearing a good N95 mask or a damp bandanna over your nose and mouth while outside.

What is this “Air Quality Alert” you speak of? You say you live in a Blue State? There’s your problem.
