China tests ‘carrier killer’ after threatening US over Taiwan contacts

“We have been holding night exercises on a regular basis recently, which usually continues until early the next day,” People’s Liberation Army Col. Jiang Feng said of the Tuesday drills, according to regional media. "We often change training grounds, striking targets, and launch bases without prior notice to test the troops’ skills and pave the way for the brigade to fight and be able to fight at any time.”

Chinese state media reportedly released footage of the DF-26 missiles, known as “carrier killers.” The display comes on the heels of “amphibious landing drills” that state media linked to the arrival in Taiwan of a bipartisan Senate delegation. In tandem, the drills call attention to Chinese preparations to invade the island democracy and combat U.S. forces that might attempt to intervene to defend Taiwan.

“If anyone dares to separate Taiwan island from China, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army will give it a head-on strike and firmly defend national reunification and territorial integrity at all costs,” Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Wu Qian said Tuesday, when the missile test reportedly took place.

Not to mention nobody outside Chinese media thinks they have ever hit a maneuvering target at sea.

If the PLA threatens that, just tell them 10 cruise missiles will be shot at the Three Gorges Dam from a submarine.

Get real! We have at least three very nukeable dams in our West. Some can be nuked without killing that many people. Dams that are far away from population centers. Thus if the ChiComs let their nukes fly, they could not be called mass murderers. In contrast, Three Gorges Dam getting nuked would kill 100,000 Chinese (my estimate) in cities and farmlands downstream. Then the US will get called mass murderers by the rest of the world. The UN too I (lol) suppose.

It seems that not a few people on this forum believe that destroying the Three Gorges Dam will hurt the CCP. It will not. The CCP cares only about its money, power, prestige, and face. The people it governs are just things to be used to their ends.

The Chinese people are not the CCP! Do you know that every week in China there is a brutally suppressed major riot against CCP created problems?

If, in taking out the Dam, you murder 400 million people, what does that make you? You have solved nothing nor lessened the power of the CCP.

People here must understand that the Chinese were pushing hard after VJ day for the extermination of all Japanese for the 20 million Chinese they murdered. What do you imagine they would do if 400 million where murdered along with the total destruction of at least 4 major cities? They will not be thinking twice as they press their big red buttons and let their nukes fly.

Let the Dam fail of its own accord - its not even anchored to the canyon walls, and the concrete used is substandard. Let it be on the CCP’s head, not ours.
