So this is a big nothing burger like you have never seen.
There are a group of bars in Buckhead (for the younger crowd 18-24) that are all right next to each other. When the night ends everyone leaves and the streets are full like this. Been like this for 10 years and way beyond like 30 plus years. Some incident in the bar/club probably lead to out in the street as the bars close and the bouncers kick everyone out. Happens all the time. There is nothing political here LOL
Anyway these bars are being bought up and tall luxury residential buildings are being put on top of them. Almost all of them have their leases ending because the property was bought for new construction.

The Mayor allows this, in the name of “covid relief” or some such excuse. The Zone Two Precinct cops have vacated their buckhead area. All the while someone is funding this riot, and sitting back and letting the predominately white, wealthy citizens fend for themselves. IMO, again.
Blacks and Whites used to get along here. Having said that, when I was in my 20s working in downtown Atlanta, it was the black co-worker who told me I was different from her. I had no idea we were different. I grew up without color preference.

My appreciation for your input. But I respectfully disagree. This is all political, IMO.

Buckhead is the area of Atlanta that is petitioning the legislature to get a referendum item on the ballot allowing them to secede from Atlanta and organize themselves as their own city with their own police force. Can’t blame them. This move will become more common as democrat cities are increasingly run by people so stupid and/or corrupt they think crime goes down when criminals have MORE power and police have less power.
In short, decent people will band their communities together and leave democrat hellhole cities.
A note for democrat hellhole city mayors:
> Arson isn't 'fire violence'.
Rape isn't 'penis violence'.
Murder isn't 'gun violence'.

Back in the day Freaknik was a thing. People who look a lot like Barack Obama blocked major streets in Buckhead causing traffic jams and blocking residents from going anywhere in the city. Men wearing jeans with large combs in their pockets, boomboxes blaring, men and women dancing on cars and other celebratory behavior prevailed.
Ambulances could not take patients to Grady, residents of the city and surrounding areas could not attend long planned weddings, or visit friends. They were trapped, kinda like Covid shutdowns.
After a few years the politicians banned Freaknik.

Sandy Springs, once a part of Atlanta, liberated themselves and are a self governing city now. Sandy Springs residents were paying huge taxes to the city of Atlanta and were not getting the services they paid for.

FWIW, I actually lived in Sandy Springs for more than a dozen years before relocating to FL after the kids all graduated from college. Sandy Springs was part of the unincorporated area of Fulton County. To the best of my knowledge, it was never part of Atlanta. It finally incorporated shortly before we bought our first home in the city, so right around early 2006 or 2005.

Not sure which event that was, offhand.
However, I will observe that the single best move of my life was to leave Atlanta when I did.
As Rick Grimes said, in “The Walking Dead”....
‘Atlanta is lost to the dead.’
