PORTLAND (WGME) – The family of Arthur Mitchell, one of the eight Mainers who died with COVID despite being vaccinated, is asking for help to save his home.
Mitchell's granddaughter, Sarina Grant, says since his death, she has learned her grandparents took out a reverse mortgage on their home. He had built the house for them more than three decades ago.
Grant says after learning of Mitchell’s death, the loan company says the family has two options: pay back the $218,000 loan in full or sell the house.

Built it 30 years ago and he still owes 218 thousand on it.
I would be wondering about his retirement planning.

175,000,000 Americans already vaccinated and population has not dropped by 0.05% has it?
Which simply means the mRNA vaccines are working as intended...to prevent people ending up in a plastic tent isolated in hospitals. People who are dying from covid are overwhelmingly UN-vaccinated.
But flat earthers die before they accept new science. It was true during ancient Greece and is true today.
Seems the widow would still benefit from the reverse mortgage. Unless her name was not on the deed.
It was a reverse mortgage thing, not 218K on an original mortgage loan.
As much sympathy as I have for this situation, as difficult and sad as it is, just sell the place and help Grandma live some other place.
If there’s not enough money in the family now to pay off the lender just let it go and move on.
If you reach the point of reverse mortgaging your house tell your family exactly what you’re doing so they are prepared, or just sell it because it’s a nightmare for your survivors. And fees and interest take a bigger slice than you realize.
How many of those 175,000,000 —would never contract Covid and become ill, seriously ill, or die — if unvaccinated? Why the rush to be vaccinated against a virus with such a low rate of contraction, infection, illness and fatality —that only appears to become fatal if you are treated in a tent?
No flat earth scientist practitioner here - just someone more skeptical and cautious. I have yet to know of an actual case of death - exclusively from COVID or Principally from COVID. Similar to tests that yielded no illness or even any symptoms.
COVID Effect on the other hand has and continues to restrict freedoms and contribute to extensive economic damages. Vaccination seems to be continuing not ending the COVID Effect.
Vaccines are working just fine. When 200,000,000 Americans are vaccinated, herd immunity will be achieved and covid will become irrelevant.
I feel so sorry for people in India, barely 10% have been vaccinated, because unlike USA, India can not afford to vaccinate people for free. Now they have more lockdowns, more deaths, more misery.
Or his family's medical bills.
Then Tom Selleck should contribute to this fund as well.
