There's nothing like a trip to the coast to blow the cobwebs away, and Kate Middleton appeared in great spirits as she joined Dr Jill Biden today at the start of the G7 summit.

The Duchess of Cambridge, 39, cut an elegant figure in the £1,125 fuchsia midi dress from Alexander McQueen and carrying a £225 L.K. Bennett handbag that matched her shoes as she arrived to meet the President's wife, 70, who also wore pink, for the first time.

They were meeting children aged four and five in reception class at the Connor Downs Academy near Camborne this afternoon followed by a round table discussion with UK education experts convened by Kate.

Medical doctors have earned the right to be called “doctor” in every setting. This, of course, has been the norm for centuries. All other doctors are called that only in their professional settings. For example, a doctor of history is called “doctor” only when on campus, and not when at the grocery store.

But if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. If a man can self-identify as a woman, I should be able to self-identify as a doctor. “Doctor Leaning Right.” Yep, that’s the ticket.
