THE GREAT INSURRECTION: Movement of Federal Troops up the Potomac; FIGHT IN PROGRESS AT WILLIAMSPORT; Editorial: The Operations in Virginia (6/11/1861)

WASHINGTON, Monday, June 10.

A visit to the Army Hospitals to-day gives gratifying assurance of the sanitary condition of the troops. There are now within this District something over 40,000 men. For the reception of patients from all the regiments there are three Hospitals. One is the infirmary, under the charge of the Sisters of Charity. In this there are about one hundred patients. In the Georgetown hospital, under the charge of Miss POWELL, there are sixty patients. At the hospital for contagious diseases, also under the charge of Miss POWELL, there are thirty patients. Here is a total of less than two hundred, all told, in a population of forty thousand adults. It is a healthy city of the same population that has not a larger sick list.

It is gratifying to know that in all three establishments the sick are most carefully tended, and afforded all the comfort and the attention that their own homes could afford. The wards were clean and suitably furnished, betokening the experience and considerate forethought of the ladies who have these institutions in charge.

There was a rumor in town that stones had been thrown at the Michigan Regiment as they passed through Baltimore this morning. This is not so. The officers say that they were well received in that city.

JAMES MILLER, of Capt. BRACKETT's Cavalry, was shot by the enemy at the outposts beyond Long Bridge, on Friday night. His horse and arms have been found at Fairfax Court-house.

A second battalion of the Washington District Militia left town about 11 o'clock to-day. They were the Corps of Sappers and Miners, and were provided with spades, picks, &c., for throwing up earth works. Wagons, with stores and tents, accompanied them, and they took twelve days' rations.

Isn’t that the same headline used to describe January 6th?

Very interesting to read the Richmond daily Dispatch and other southern newspapers printed on the same date.
I don’t have a link,but worth looking up.
