Cool Hand Luke is still alive?
This was back in 1991, when Poppy Bush was in office.
I suspect today, there would be repeated and aggressive attempts at intervention. The Nutritionists would not leave him alone.
This almost sounds like addictive behavior. We can become emotionally addicted to anything, any pattern or ritual.
It also sounds as if he was asking for help with that addiction (’Eating these eggs ruins my life, but I can’t help it!”). That can’t have been good for bowel function.
The eating of eggs was his way to cope with getting through another day of lonliness. I would strongly suspect this gentleman is long dead at this time.
If he was 88 in 1990-91, then he’d be 118 by now....................
When I was about 24 I would eat a whole package of bacon for breakfast.
I am now 66 and had a Quad By-pass operation just over a year ago...............
Interesting. Serum cholesterol levels have more to do with how the body’s control mechanism is maintaining the right levels rather than how much you are consuming in your diet. In his case the body dialed down absorption and increased metabolism to maintain a steady and safe level. The important thing probably is that his diet was stable over a long period of time so his body had time to adjust to a steady state. Wonder what the levels would be if he ate say 3 eggs on one day, 17 the next.. then none for the next three days .. followed by the 24 the day after and so forth. I will bet they would be crazy high.
Damn! A whole package of bacon? I’m impressed, but nobody tried to stop you? Of course, at that age (24) I was already living on my own, and there was no one in the apartment to raise any objections on what I ate or drank.
Nobody was there except for Juanita, my Cocker Spainel puppy. I’m guessing it was that way for you too.
Luke at 50 of them.
Interesting sidenote: Newman hated eggs and would spit them out immediately after chewing them which is why you never saw him eat one, start to finish.
Yep, I had just gotten out of the Marines and still had that huge appetite! I never really got ‘fat’ though, most I ever weighed in life was 215.................
I average 3 extra large free run eggs a day, and have for 20+ years. I have eaten as many as a dozen, but try to eat 3 per day. They do not constipate you or give you gas if you soft boil or cook them sunnyside up. Hard boiled eggs are those culprits. My cholesterol? Who cares? It is not an indicator of anything except for a trigger for the doctor to become pharmaceutical salesman. Taking cholesterol lowering medications, lowers brain function. The brain is a very high percentage cholesterol in its makeup.
Thank God for Lipitor... Sadly, over 90% of our long term health is related to the genes you inherited. My family is a cancer family... Lots and lots of cancer. Other’s get the bad heart gene... Lots and lots of heart attacks.
“Taking cholesterol lowering medications LOWERS BRAIN FUNCTION!!!”
You don’t say!
I need to study what’s in my Med. Cabinet.
This article was so full of metric bs I decided to read something else.
Perhaps read a bit of @Mangan150 on Twitter. Sun, Steak, & Steel. He's an interesting cat. Throws the Foot Pyramind upside down and has research papers he finds that amaze me. Briefly and not a qoute high choleterol means your body can functionally process the fat's you are giving it. I hope I spell this correct Choline, eggs are a great source. I wonder if this gent would have faired worse in the memory dept without it.
Bingo. So much of the cholesterol noise being spewed out is just garbage. Things like eggs and high quality butter are good for you, contrary to the "noise".
My theory is a lot of that is due to inherited dietary habits, not genes.

Man, I bet there are some smelly farts at that nursing home...
Well I eat my customary one egg daily for breakfast. I went a few days recently without my breakfast egg and I felt weaker, sluggish. I figure one daily egg won’t kill me but if it eventually does then so be it.
