The Best Type of Exercise? A Blood Test Holds Clues
DNYUZ ^ | June 9th, 2021 | Unattributed

If we all begin the same exercise routine tomorrow, some of us will become much fitter, others will get a little more in shape, and a few of us may actually lose fitness. Individual responses to exercise can vary that wildly and, until now, unpredictably. But a fascinating new study of more than 650 men and women suggests that the levels of certain proteins in our bloodstreams might foretell whether and how we will respond to various exercise regimens.

The study needs replication and expansion, but represents a meaningful start toward a blood test to indicate the best types of exercise for each of us, and if we can expect to gain more or less benefit from the same workout as our spouse, offspring or other training partners or rivals.

I think booze and light exercise could preserve you. Or pickle you.

Walking is the beat excercise. Walked 4 hours a day before my kidney surgery. Blood pressure lowered 20 points and lost 25 lbs in 3 months.

Best exercise for what goal(s)? Exercise should done as
1) safely as possible. As little risk of acute or chronic injury as possible;
2) as efficiently as possible. Why spend more time on something than is needed?
3) as effectively as possible. To be really effective, an exercise program needs to address all of the trainable factors of functional ability: Muscular strength, muscular size, cardiovascular efficiency, bone and connective tissue strength, and metabolic efficiency.

Here’s a good article on the subject from an excellent site:

I really must thank the local homeless for the exercise I’ve gotten the last two days, running my chainsaw, sometimes up on a ladder (at age 71) limbing up trees and cutting brush, yes ruining their camp sites so as to allow the local sheriff better visual of the trespassers, oops am I allowed to say the word trespassers in Kalifornia ?

The local parks and rec department had been receiving complaints of homeless on my property which adjoins the trail, harassing county trail walkers and arranged a meeting at the sheriff’s office where I was encouraged to take action at my expense.
Friday Parks and Rec is supposed to swing by to discuss the mess on their side of the heavily vandalized fence.

My cardio has gotten a good work out the last week just from anger which according to the article is a good thing.

Oh, the Oak Tree Ordinance only allows me to cut 8 trees or pay fines which has added to my heavy breathing. I am allowed to limb up trees so a couple more days up and down a ladder with my chain saw should add to my cardio.

The mess is unbelievable but the local sheriff promises to patrol more vigilantly once the clearing is done.

Try the all meat Carnivore Diet. I’ve been on it three years. It’s just meat, fish, eggs, and some dairy.

Remember “smiling Bob” in the Enzyte commercial?

I’m 74. Everything that’s supposed to be “UP” is up, shall we say.
