Sparrows have finally gotten their nests built under the roof of my back porch. They made quite a mess during the construction phase, dropping nest makings everywhere. That’s over, and now they sit and chatter at me when I’m out having a smoke. I think I hear little ones cheeping.
Adorable their cheeping!! :)
We rescued a baby House Sparrow on our balcony yesterday who had fallen from the nest, almost featherless, and got itself wedged for hours in a place where the parents couldn’t reach it.
I haven’t had a sparrow in a while, so we took it.
After warming up and having a soft place to lie, it’s an angel - great eater, already loves me, and is going to grow up speaking pigeon, because the other bird in the room is jealous and rants the whole time I’m feeding this baby...
I hate sparrows, if they can enter a bird house they will do so and kill the existing nesting birds such as chickadees and take it over.....
If you make bird houses, you can avoid that happening by making the entrance hole smaller.......
