Pick a car, any car, and there is someone who loves it, regardless of conventional wisdom or popular opinion. And our automotive lives are richer and fuller because of this. Case in point, this 1976 Datsun B210 for sale on Hemmings.com. Once positioned as an affordable fuel-miser, it's exactly the kind of car that typically gets used up and disappears from the collective consciousness. But not this one, as it turns out. From the seller's description: All original, extremely solid, retains all factory equipment from new, Original window sticker, Runs and drives great, feels strong with no hesitations, rattles, squeaks, or fading inside. Not very many of these little datsuns left in this condition. $13,500

Neighbor had one of those. It was white with no louvers. That was a cool looking car.

My wife’s first car. Purchased in 87. She drove it for several years, then sold it. It was a beater but it was also a good car - for what it was! Nothing fancy but it always started, turned and stopped.

I loved my 76 280Z. Only problem I had with it was if you it a pot hole it would lock the steering wheel. But when the rear tires hit the pothole it would unlock it. Didn’t wait to get it fixed

We had a Luv for a ranch truck. If you were not in a hurry there was no such thing as over loading it. It would haul as much as you could stack up in it and over the cab. Ton and a half of hay bails was no problem. It had a set of unique rubber over load springs in the back that would let you do this. Ranch trucks are abused bad and we couldn’t kill it.

I had a red one (Chevy LUV) 76. Not a bad little truck. Traded it in for a Pinto MPG which wasn’t a bad car either until the rear end seal came out on the road to Las Vegas

Outclassed again. No one liked the 110.
Once after having the engine rebuilt, I drove
that fly speck vehicle to Canada.
In Minnesota a huge apparition to
the left caught my attention—hello Mr. Moose.

We took a 76 240Z and built an Offy style twin cam, 24 valve head for it, dual Weber carbs, GMC truck supercharger and nitrous. It was a screamer. 0-120 in about 5 seconds. Little brother wrapped it around a tree. Too much car for him

I had a Datsun in about 1972, it was a Orange 4 door sedan, Stick shift, pretty loaded for the time and was a great car. Do not remember the model. I was about 17.

the tranny is worth more than that, they’re a popular performance upgrade for MG Midgets. I’ve been trying to find one for years for mine

Found a picture of what I had, it was a 1971 Datsun 510 Sedan, that was a nice car and could go for a long time open a tank of gas.

My Parents had a 55 Eldorado Biarritz Convertible back in 1959. They also had a 58 Sedan De Ville.

The Eldorado came with the Continental Kit but my Father hated how it looked so he took it off.

The engine basically disintegrated when we were driving back from CA on our Vacation. My Dad rebuilt it and sold the Car, but not before he had to get the Transmission Rebuilt. It was haunted. He hated it. Said it was the only Car he ever lost money on.

Can’t imagine him being alive today and finding out that Car is worth around $200,000, if not more.

Rack another one up to the if we knew then what we know now club.

Knew a guy who had an original orange paint 1975 Honda Civic CVCC (ED1) import. Damn that was a neat little car. He finally burned it up after 240K.

My Mom traded in her 74 Dodge Dart Swinger for 78 b210
In a dark green color, she was disappointed with it.
The car always had a funny plastic smell to it,she even took it back to the dealer about the smell but there was no remedy for the smell.
The car was gone before 1980.

The Escorts of 1991 vintage and after had a Ford And Mazda collaboration in the design of the engine...fit and finish were also much better, The engine was mostly a 323 Mazda engine with Ford elements and she could kick some power/torque with its manual 5 speed. I replaced the base radio with an uograde Ford/bose/delco made for upgrade lines I found used in a shop and it fit like a glove in the slots and the whole music system sang and kicked when it needed to.(premium tape deck from delco with and audio in port) Gas mpg was 30/36 for me. The transmission was manual in my model but the clutch and shifting was smooth as glass. The escorts of the 90’s were great cars and the first ones from Ford that didn’t become super rust buckets after the first couple of years.
