Pick a car, any car, and there is someone who loves it, regardless of conventional wisdom or popular opinion. And our automotive lives are richer and fuller because of this. Case in point, this 1976 Datsun B210 for sale on Hemmings.com. Once positioned as an affordable fuel-miser, it's exactly the kind of car that typically gets used up and disappears from the collective consciousness. But not this one, as it turns out. From the seller's description: All original, extremely solid, retains all factory equipment from new, Original window sticker, Runs and drives great, feels strong with no hesitations, rattles, squeaks, or fading inside. Not very many of these little datsuns left in this condition. $13,500

$13,500, LOL, it’s still only worth $1,000 due to the mint condition.

Unmolested vintage cars are special - so many get tarted up and/or restored.

We own a '55 Coupe DeVille that's right out of a time capsule and has 45k miles on it. It never spent a minute in the rain or snow.

All the dealer's paperwork is present as well as the first buyer's. On his hand written notes he specified a continental kit and GM custom made one for him.

The first oil change sticker is still on the door jamb as well as subsequent ones.

Great color to hide the instant rust that formed on it.

It was just Datsun 210 iirc. Didnt add the B until 1980 or so.

Nope.

The 510 was just the 510, but the B210 had the B in the early 70s.

I remember reading in a little blurb buried in the newspaper that after the NTSB or whoever tested all of the small cars made in the late’70’s that the Ford Pinto actually was less likely to catch fire than the imports of the time. But no one remembers that little detail. Datsun came in at the bottom of the test IIRC.

Honda CVCC wagon - orange.

My uncle had this in a light metallic blue/silver color. Can't remember if it was the wagon or 2 door. Pretty sure his was a 1976. That car would not die.

My grandmother, a 4 ft 10 in Sicilian, had this exact car and it was in pristine condition.

She was T-boned by someone who ran a red light so she put her car in reverse and then gunned it and T-boned him back.

God, I miss her.

I have a relative who is obsessed with these things.

He has many barns and buildings filled with them.

Same color and year as my father's 210. He sold it in 1988 when we moved to Florida.

In 1991 I bought a similar car to this only it was a 1983 Toyota Starlet. Best low maintenance car I ever owned. Then 10 years later in 2001/2 an Ex needed money for a newer used car and sold me her 1980 Toyota Tercel. Had that for 2 years until the head gasket left me stranded in West Palm Beach going to a Matt Savage Trio concert. Left WPB buying a 2001 Ford Taurus SEL like an idiot at a buy here die here use car stealership.

Me too. My 240Z was a blue 1971, one of the few with an automatic transmission. In those days you took whatever arrived at the dealer. I gave it to a charity when I moved to Florida in 1998. it had been sitting in storage for about 10 years.
