Elton John, he never really got on with the ‘Your Song’ singer, “An old bitch… his writing is limited to songs about dead blondes,” Richards once said of the Rocketman without so much as a second thought.
Led Zeppelin, “The guy’s voice started to get on my nerves. I don’t know why; maybe he’s a little too acrobatic.”
Metallica

Back in 85 when Prince came to Syracuse, Shelia E opened up for him.
She had sung on a couple of the singles on Purple Rain.
She was smokin hot at the time.
Keith Richards spends much of his time here in Southern Connecticut at his Weston mansion - so that might be where he gets his crankiness from. Lot of cranky people around here.
care? i don’t really think anybody “cares”
it’s just internet rubbernecking or like watching a cat fight or something...
for entertainment purposes only
I’ve seen both bands live- its’ not even close- Led Zeppelin by a million miles...
Led Zeppelin was able to take their songs from vinyl to another level live. The Stones?? They needed back up singers, additional musicians, brass pieces in order to play many of their studio songs live.
Stairway, Kashmir, The Immigrant Song, Achilles Last Stand are incredible studio songs that were even more incredible live. I’ve yet to find a single song by the Stones they were able to elevate live.
There is no band, nor will there ever be a band, to match the mighty Led Zeppelin.
True
Taupin married Maxine Feibleman a Jewish girl from Vicksburg Mississippi his first of many
Well her grandma and cousins were there....the Sklars....whom I knew
They had a lake house....and all the women were Scandinavian blonde or ginger
One of Maxine’s younger cousins my age was a hippie girl who married a guy from the Air Force and they moved to Guatemala I think....Antigua ...I saw them there in the late 80s or Belize city back before it was popular
An antebellum Jewish family....weird the Taupin connection isn’t it....dry goods and ship chandlers
They say he wrote Don’t Let the Sun Come Down on Me at their Eagle Lake....lake cabin
Those delta ox bow lakes with cypress and the dusty heat from the cotton fields give magnificent sunsets....huge reflection of the sun as it disappears
Betty White was on the receiving end of jokes about her advanced age from her showbiz colleagues as early as the the mid-sixties.
Guitar band?? Ever listen to Kashmir? Trampled Underfoot? The Rain Song?
Claiming Zeppelin is a guitar band is almost as bad a people who classify Led Zeppelin as “heavy metal.”
You wax poetic...
He’s the man who, along with Betty White, will outlive post apocalyptic cockroaches.
:D
showing his privilege ..
FU KR
So, he does not like phag singers? Never listened to them.
The horror, the horror!
Robert Plant’s voice could get on my nerves after a while.
Personally, I never cared for the Stones unless they were playing their more obscure music (v/s their 'top 10 hits') I have the album Exile on Main Street. Stones were heavily influenced by the blues.
Elton John is another. Bubblegum music however, 3 songs (imho) from his earlier work shows the talent: Madman across the water; All the Young Girls Love Alice; A Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding.
Metallica....an acquired taste. Some excellent, some not. Bowie, same thing.
There was an old joke about Richards: LIVE! It's the Rolling Stones! plus Keith Richards :O
keef has a voice like goose farts on a foggy morning but is preferable to plant.
The Stones were the greatest rock band of them all, with hit after hit after hit...Some people can’t deal with it, but that’s OK.☺
