If Congress passes the Equality Act—the House already has—incarcerated biological men who identify as female would be entitled to transfer into women’s federal prisons and possibly also state prisons nationwide. How’s that working in California?
Not well, according to Amie Ichikawa, who was released in 2013 from the Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla, where she served five years for assault and kidnapping.

Also unlike men’s prison, inmates at Chowchilla are housed eight to a room, with a sink and toilet inside the cell and only a cowboy door for modesty. The California law specifically states that no inmate may be denied a housing request for “any discriminatory reason,” including “genitalia” or “sexual orientation.” According to some surveys, a majority of biological men who identify as trans women are sexually attracted to women.
the female guards at Chowchilla are as upset as the inmates by the law, recognizing that men are far more violent. The Corrections Department confirmed that unlike some men’s prisons, Chowchilla—California’s highest-security women’s prison—doesn’t have “gun coverage,” meaning officers overseeing the general population are armed only with batons and pepper spray.
She also confirmed that although there are many female prisoners in California’s women’s prisons who identify as men, only seven have requested transfer to the men’s prison. Why so few? I asked Ms. Ichikawa, who answered: “They would get killed.”

Never known any former female inmates but I have worked with trans.
The first one was low key his attorney made its demands. A year or two and suicide.
Another was an OK worker if you did not ask for much.
At a large meeting in the auditorium, one of my ever-entertaining team is pointing out this trans and making hand signals and telling his pals that this was a "HOT FEMALE". Herding cats is not an easy way to earn a living.
I wrote a note, but he was in love and lacking sufficient blood flow to his brain.
Almost worth it when I was able to explain the facts of life to him. To this day he is often reminded of his lust for a trans!!!
Before I retired one that stood out was do not speak unless spoken to, no eye contact, do not look in their direction. Simply stay away if you like your current employment.
As far as I can tell, these guys are just transvestites in most cases. Bruce Jenner has his equipment, and he likes women. He just likes wearing a dress. Putting any guy like that in a women’s prison is just dumb.

What about biological men or women who identify as fire hydrants? What prison do they go to? If a person gets sent to a prison that they claim to be, I stead if What they actually are, the how about men or women who identify as say melons? Chupacabras? Non identities?
the women inmates will simply post a guard 24/7 in shifts and watch the guy and one wrong move and I suspect the guy will be toast.
If he’;s not killed, he will certainly be safer to have around women.

They act as if no tranny ever did time in a prison before. When I started as an officer at Auburn Prison in Auburn, New York, in 1980, there was an hispanic male prisoner who had undergone hormone treatments, and had boobs. He lived in general population with the rest of the men. Had to go through strip searches when visitors came. Of course people talked about this person, but no problems ever arose in the prison because of him. I spent 3 1/2 years there before transferring to a new prison back home. There were probably other trannies doing time in other facilities around the State, but I never ran into any of them during my 25 years. There were plenty of homos who looked and acted feminine, but none that had any anatomical changes done, that I knew of. And we would have known, because that kind of info went through a prison fast.

I remember the Speck murders. I had graduated from high school the year before (’65), and being female, the graphic nature of the murders stuck in my mind. I also remember hearing about the sex tapes that featured him. It happening in The Illinois prison system didn’t surprise me. That shit, and worse is probably still going on. I retired in 2003. Never missed the job one bit, and glad I was able to get out when I did.
