The Second Amendment: More important now than ever
American Thinker ^ | 1 Jun, 2021 | Liam Brooks

The tyrants are in charge, and they want your guns.

While the left has denied it for decades, anyone who pays attention knows that the ill named "progressives" want to totally eliminate the Second Amendment. Period. The so-called "red flag" laws popping up around the country, as well as the gun-hating zealot nominated by Biden to head the ATF, are just two examples of Marxism's accelerated drive to disarm law-abiding citizens. It won't be long before the Democrats attempt to push through a gun registration law, always the final step before total confiscation.

We can't allow this to happen. We can hope that Republicans in Congress, aided by a handful of rational Democrats (assuming there are any left), will make a stand...but don't hold your breath.

In the history of this Republic, there has never been a time when protecting our right to keep and bear arms was more important. Whether it's the Biden administration's open borders, the defunding of local law enforcement, the massive retirement numbers at police agencies, the skyrocketing crime rates in urban America, or the violation of individual rights that we have long taken for granted, the Second Amendment is the final roadblock against total federal tyranny. The Founding Fathers knew this, which is exactly why the Second Amendment was created.

Liberals are quick to mention increasing homicide rates as their rationale for creating more redundant gun laws, but this is another left-wing lie. The highest modern homicide rates in the United States were recorded from 1950 through 1995, when the yearly total averaged 9.22 homicides per 100,000 population. The worst year was 1980, when the number hit 10.4 per 100,000. The number in 2018 was 5.9, almost half of what the homicide rate was in 1980.

I predict that registration compliance would be less than 20 percent. The glove will be thrown down at that time.

Supreme Court just issued a unanimous (!) warning over “red flag” laws.
Several more states just passed “Constitutional carry”.
For months, guns & ammo are completely sold out (shipment comes in, out the door in hours) - not for want of supply.
NY demonstrated ban compliance rates under 5%.
And at this scale, if a ban triggers just 0.01% to decide “it’s time” then the mostly peaceful protest at the Capitol will look like a beach party.

The 2A alone ain’t shite. It needs men to stand up.

In case you haven’t figured it out, yet, we are being played, and by both sides. The “Democrats want your guns” and anti-gun media campaigns flood the airwaves when Democrats are in charge.

This time, the Democrats weren’t even elected. I would think that would be the number one priority. Arguing with someone who is lying to you while ripping you off is stupid.

Who enforced the 2A in dodge city and Abilene where the marshals made everyone surrender their guns?

I told my wife to be prepared. Biden will make me a felon. I WILL NOT kneel before my grave with a gun to the back of my head like the dissidents in China. The bullet will come from the front after my magazine is empty.

I'm standing. I've been standing. I'm alone. Possibly taking root. And a squirrel has built a nest in my beard...

Just waiting on the rest of you...

And waiting...

And waiting...

No, My point is that the 2A has been disregarded for a very long time and taking away guns is solidly embedded in American society.

A formal reversal in some places seems to be in process of that thinking

The tyrants are in charge, and they want your guns.

Tyrants need to be shot with said guns.

A lot of the parts of our Constitution have been “disregarded for a very long time”. We are NOT the better for it.

Anything we can do to roll that back is a good thing.

The alternative is a continuation of the rot in our Institutions that leads invariably to violence.

Until the daily fines kick in, and the feds start dropping liens on homes, cars, RV's, boats, and other toys. Add to that the point at which they start shutting off utilities and the spouse decides to pack up the kids and go to her parent's place because your refusal to register is interfering with the ability to keep them in climate control, that rate's going to shoot up.

Molon Labe? Please. That is nothing more than a 2%/Oath Breaker fantasy.

The will to use them is where every single one of us gun owners has failed, and will continue to do so.

It's the same old historical progression of events. Despots keep expanding their lawlessness and tyranny until they run into someone, a group of someones or an entire region of someones who go 'we're not doing it; we're not complying'. Then all bets are off.
