Add in the people who have had COVID and we are at herd immunity.

I flew for the first time in over a year this week. Airplane was completely full. We had to wear masks the entire time on the plane and in the airport. You could only drop your mask ‘between bites’....but if you go into one of the airport restaurants you can drop the mask the entire time.

...the irony on the plane - the last announcement over the speaker, upon exiting, was to ‘remember to social distance’.

Yet here in Michigan, some restaurants are still requiring “contact details” (name/phone number), required for “contact tracing” data. Yet nobody I’ve ever known has received a call regarding “close contact” with someone recently testing positive.

What a complete farce. This insane.

I’d walk out of that restaurant.

‘Herd immunity’ sounds intuitive. yet part of me leans toward this is a bullcrap idea. Viruses - virus. We will find out in the next cold and flu season. Hold on to your butts (to steal from Jurasic Park)

There are several early treatment protocols which are 85% effective in cutting death in high risk patients (elderly, comorbidities etc.)

As information of breakthrough cases of Covid keep slipping past the gatekeepers, the public will realize medication protocols are more efficacious than repeated injections with dangerous experimental 'products' which have never been used on the public before.

You found one that was open?

When a I flew from Denver to London a few weeks ago, basically nothing was open until I got to London (which was fully open)

Denver to Los Angeles to Boston to Lisbon to London to avoid American carriers except Southwest

Charlotte airport was busy while Baltimore and Reagan National were both slow. I guess major hubs are busy while other airports are not back up at their peak yet.

Probably still using the bogus test that isn’t for testing for a virus, so the numbers are inflated.

Perhaps covid is on the test swab.
People keep shoving it up their nose.
Keep the numbers high.

Just thinking out loud.

There were some closed stores/restaurants, most were open. Probably the closed ones are closed for good.

Outside of wearing a mask on the plane - it was almost normal...including having a large passenger sitting next to me.

As people get vaccinated the fear is disappearing from the fearful. Considering how many people there were and that the planes were full - how on earth are they going to justify not going back to normal regarding bars, concerts, and sporting events?

It’s a real idea, I read up on it a bit on the late 90s when we were involved doing computer antivirus rollouts for corporate clients. Many of the same concepts apply. Viruses have to have a host, and if there are no hosts because a sufficient number either has immunity from having had the virus, or from having a vaccine, then the virus doesn’t propagate. And that’s herd immunity.

One big thing. The American segments. No meal and basically no snack service. 8 hours of flying (Denver to LAX to Boston) with only 1 bag of pretzels and a half-can of Sprite sucked.. No restaurants open in the concourse area.

The Boston to Lisbon to UK segments had normal food. Not the best, but still.
