FLORENCE, SC- Thanks to a 72-year-old Army veteran, a suspect that the Florence County Sheriff Deputies have been searching for since Friday, May 21st has now been taken into custody.
According to reports, John Earl, the Army veteran said that he was at home when the suspect ran through his backyard on Saturday morning, May 22nd. Early said that he tried to ask the man why he was running, but that the suspect just pushed him away.
After the suspect pushed him away, Earl took down the suspect, hogtied him, and called the sheriff’s office. Many would call what Earl did fearless, but Earl states he was just doing the right thing. He said:
“I haven’t been pumped up like that in a long time. It felt good, but it felt good when the officers came and put the cuffs on him and took him out. They’re some fine officers.”

Jerry Pournelle used “on the gripping hand” in that third case. He and Larry Niven wrote an alien first contact novel called The Mote in God’s Eye that involved aliens with a specialized 3rd arm/hand for gripping stuff they were working on. Great book, worthwhile.
Our hero should hurry home to his wife!
#8. What’s this suspect wanted for, impersonating a human being? And they say there is no life in outer space!!
Maybe his belt??
(Definition) Badass: 72 year old Earl took down the suspect, hogtied him, and called the sheriff’s office.
Very true. I hadn’t thought of that.
