The “Charge”, as in allegation, has already been discredited. But the unbiased media and the DOJ including the FBI, seem incredibly unwilling to let it go. They continue to investigate and the media continues to report the investigation. They want to get Matt Gaetz for his outspoken support of President Trump.

My guess is that he has Vice-Presidential aspirations. Our standards for President are unbelievably low, and Gaetz has a rich daddy and all, but he can’t be deluded enough to run for President.
Not everyone who campaigns seeks to win the office.
He’ll get to highlight certain issues, fundraise, and may be able to negotiate some sort of “access” to the eventual winner or even some appointed office.
But, you can't be banging teenagers when you're in Congress, not in 2021 and not when you're in your mid to late 30s

He talked about her with Tucker Carlson in the interview he gave the night the story broke. He claimed that he even took her to a dinner with Carlson and his wife, an allegation Carlson says he has no memory of.
What words haven’t come out of Gaetz mouth: ‘This whole story is ridiculous. I haven’t dated a teenager since I was a teen myself.’
There’s a reason Gaetz hasn’t said that, apparently.
