I’ve heard that gators could, technically live forever as they just continue to grow, but eventually they get so big that they can’t digest enough food to keep themself alive.
That is, what eventually gets all of them is their dangerous lifestyle.

I ‘ve had a 5 or 6 ft one sunning in my back yard......
....in Florida if there’s a water area, there’s eventually gators
The golfers have to occasionally play around them
It’s life in Florida
But 13 feet!.....wow

Florida has had gator hunting for years. That keeps a lid on the gators from getting big. The larger ones have been coming out of places like Alabama, which has allowed the gators to get larger due to less hunting.

Oh, an adolescent. You should see some of the ones out in the canals at Kennedy Space Center. Yikes!

It was then taken to a gator farm. Gov. DeSantis should have arranged for it to be taken to D.C. as a “gift” from Florida. The floor of Congress would have been the perfect spot for its release.

In LA, a state trapper can shoot them if they’re over 8 ft. You can’t ask a solo man to wrangle a live gator larger than that. What’s the point?

We saw a ton of gators last week in a Louisiana bayou. They ate marshmallows.
