What do we think, Freepers?
I suppose too much to ask for ending civil asset forfeiture ...
Does that include the FBI’s efforts to retreive Nancy Pelosi’s missing laptop?
The accused won’t be able to move to a different jurisdiction to get a fair and impartial trial? That’s a serious abridgment of justice.
Yeah. The no-knock warrants are great if the police don’t abuse the privilege. They did, though. Innocent people have died.
And let’s be frank: Those are usually drug war related. It’s time to end that one.
Like most things along the slippery slope, no-knock warrants have their place, but that place should be exceedingly infrequent and with a tremendous amount of evidence of their necessity.
To ban them altogether will endanger police officers in those cases where they are warranted.
Wouldn’t it just be easier and cheaper to remove all black people? They commit most of the crime anyway.
Its awful and you fell for CNN lies and spin .
Its a Hate Whitey and Hate Cops Bill .
and a Dem destroy Trump jan 6 Commission bill .
And the Gope / McCarthy skipped the vote on purpose to ram it thru
Restricting no-knock warrants sounds like a good idea, the rest, no so much.
How about a similar registry for corrupt politicians?
Both no knock warrants and asset forfeiture should have been ruled as violations of the 4th Amendment long ago if our courts still cared about the Constitution.
No it does not. A judge will rule that no-knock warrants are acceptable when used to track down “violent extremists”, the definition of which is a closely guarded secret.
I didn't read that as trial related. I thought they were talking about police officers just changing jobs to another location that either doesn't know or doesn't care about their past behavior.
“It would ban racial and religious profiling by law enforcement at the federal, state and local levels. “
does that mean there are other levels i’m not aware of? damn...
I wonder if no-knock raids in some circumstances can save lives. Example being the hot one from last year where the unarmed lady was killed. It was first reported as a no-knock raid, later learned they did knock, which may have gave the man time to arm himself in the hallway. He shot when they entered, she was behind him to fatally catch the return fire. If they had no-knock raided, maybe she’d be alive. I’m not a cop, so just speculating.
If No-Knock was the only thing banned it would be OK, but Democrat “Legislation” is never “as advertised”, it is usually the opposite.
I have no love for no knock warrants
“Racial Profiling” laws began in San Francisco.
That should tell you all you need to know.
We didn't learn the lessons taught by alcohol prohibition; crime, gangs and the contempt for law enforcement.
She was also one of the perps. I’m talking about cases where they raid the wrong house, which happens quite a bit more than people think.
At least with a “knock” raid, the shooter can’t argue that he thought it was a home invasion. i.e. more culpability if anything goes wrong.
Ending no-knock warrants is good, reforming police immunity is good, etc. But at what cost?
