Because of the American idea, which the left hates and wants to destroy — the idea of individual liberty and decentralized power, resting primarily with individuals, voluntary associations, communities, and when government is needed, mainly localities and states. Opportunity, very few rules to inhibit you from doing what is yours to do.
Progressives are destroying that, and we must stand against them. That, I believe, is what William F. Buckley meant by “to stand athwart the tide of progress crying stop.”
The context that we are talking about, in regards to self-sufficiency, is not capability. We are talking about people who do not think that they need God. People who think themselves as being so wise that they never turn towards God.
Well, whatever efforts y’all been doing, soured, re report, 47% of millenials towards your idea.
Can’t say I blame them. TV and radio preachers with jets, big houses, investigative scandals. Mainline churches with pederasters in the pulpit.
Who would want to enlist themselves in all that mess?
They see you as part of all the problems they inherited when they became adults.
