Police have taken a suspect into custody in connection with a shootout that left two people dead and eight others injured early Saturday morning in downtown Minneapolis.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, at 1:59 a.m., officers working bar close in downtown heard sounds of gunshots in the area of 300 block of North First Avenue.
Police said officers ran to the gunfire and encountered an "exceptionally chaotic scene."
Officers located several victims lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. Officers located a man deceased on the ground. As officers triaged other victims, they found another man deceased with a gunshot wound, said police.
Preliminary investigation reveals that two people were standing in a crowded area and got into a verbal confrontation. Both individuals pulled out guns and began shooting at each other.
One of the gunmen was killed in the shootout. The other suspect, identified as 23-year-old Jowan Contrail Carroll, was taken into custody early Saturday afternoon in Bloomington with the help of the Bloomington Police Department. He is being held in the Hennepin County Jail on probable cause murder. He has not been formally charged.

This wouldn’t have happened if Minneapolis had gotten rid of the police like they said they would.
I’ve read several accounts of this story. I saw no mention of social workers or mental health professionals running toward the gunfire.
That’s more than Jan 6th, I demand a commission.
They are undoubtedly hiding from the police, waiting for them to go away.
America isn’t Progressiving fast enough.
And a really big fence with razor wire on the top ... patrolled by a battalion of Nat. Guards(pronouns).

There was another local media account of this that I chose not to post due to the old and tired “shots rang out”.
Shots go boom. There is no ringing involved. Except ears in close proximity.

And the wonder why they dont want building zoning policies that transport this kind of violent human garbage to safe and clean neighborhoods...
Because all other minorities can live together in areas and thats fine and not racist, but whites cant live safely where they want to without government declaring it racist and having to do something about it.
People want to love around others they are comfortable with. The dirty secret is whites tend to be with other whites because we are safer and respect others properties for the most part. Not because of white. If we get blacks or latinos in that take care of their stuff, keep their kids in line, dont bring drugs and crime and noise to the neighborhood, AND FIT IN LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, fine.
Not a bad idea to get rid of all the police. It would give Minneapolis more money to hire street sweepers.
where are the social workers to come and soothe these young people.
