SPECIAL DISPATCH FROM WASHINGTON.
WASHINGTON, Tuesday, May 21.
The event of to-day in Washington was the funeral of Col. VOSBURGH.
At an early hour, it was determined to forward his remains by the 2 o'clock train. The funeral services were performed at the Navy-yard, in the presence of the President and members of his Cabinet; the Seventy-first, Twelfth and Sixty-ninth Regiments of New-York, the Rhode Island Regiment, the officers and men of the Navy-yard, and a large number of officers from the various Regiments in the neighborhood. The entire Seventy-first chaunted a hymn, composed for the occasion by a member of the Light Guard attached to the Seventy-first.
After the ceremonies, the remains were escorted to the railroad depot, the Rhode Island and Twelfth Regiments acting as a guard of honor. After these came a corps of Marines and a carriage conveying the attending physicians; then the hearse, drawn by four horses. Upon the coffin was spread the glorious banner in whose defence Col. VOSBURGH had come to Washington. After the hearse was the led horse of the deceased, and then the Seventy-first as mourners, without arms and with muffled drums. Following were the carriages of President LINCOLN and Secretary SEWARD, containing the President and members of his Cabinet. The procession closed with the Sixty-ninth, and a long line of carriages containing military officers.
It is a matter of regret that the Seventh Regiment did not attend the funeral of Col. VOSBURGH, they remaining absent because some point of military etiquette had been violated -- I believe because the regiment had not received official notice of the death.
OUTPOSTS FIRD UPON.

its interesting how the NY Times reports on Yankee school teachers being harrassed in Savannah or brigands in Indiana being called “secessionists.”
Its all the scandal they can muster so far. Can’t wait to see what Bull Run brings.
