20,000 seems way different than 150.

150 is “fewer” than 20,000 - so it is a true statement.

Yes. It’s poorly written, but I used it anyway because of the novelty of NYT criticizing CDC.

Myeah, that’s the point they’re making. They could have just stuck with The CDC lied, and this just in, water is wet.
