Outraged mom slams mask 'insanity' after daughter collapses during basketball tryouts
Fox News ^ | 5/18/21 | By Joshua Q. Nelson

A teenager who collapsed during a basketball tryout while wearing a mask said Tuesday on "Fox & Friends" that she believes mask mandates are harmful to athletes.

On the second day of basketball tryouts at Crooks County High School in Prineville, Oregon, Savannah Lay said she experienced what she called a near-death collapse due to lack of oxygen.

Lay told "Fox & Friends" that she was doing "drills" that were usually easy to do, but, after she told the coach that she had "difficulty breathing," she asked for a break and removed her mask.

She said she was confronted by one of the "junior players" who told her she was "not allowed to do that."

"So I went to the locker room and I had to get onto the floor because the coldness of the floor was helping me breathe. And it was at the point where I was like, I'm going to die. Like, I cannot breathe right now, like, this is it," she recalled.

One of Savannah’s teammates found her and then immediately got one of the coaches to perform CPR.

"And they actually had to put my mouth close up to the mirror to see if I was actually breathing. And they said that I had no pulse. And then the next thing I know, I woke up in the ambulance," Savannah said.

Savannah's mother, Jessica, was outraged by the experience her daughter went through, so, she called on Gov. Kate Brown and the Oregon Health Authority to end the mask mandate to prevent a life-threatening emergency from happening again.

I always have to chuckle a bit when I see someone bike riding or running while wearing a mask.

Heck, I saw my grandaughter’s lacrosse game in St Cloud, MN a few weeks ago and they didn’t wear masks on the field.

Would this have the same affect as training at altitude for a fight at or near sea level

Ya know... I like the fact my state is consistently at the bottom, or second to the bottom, of all those “Best States To Live In” polls.

But...

Our kids have been in school since last August.
Our kids never missed a single football game.
No mask nazis.
No masks at all in schools since April.

So keep voting us to the bottom. It keeps the trash out of the state!

I doubt what was described had anything to do with wearing a mask.

Check your oxygen saturation with a mask on. Normal is 100%. Mine is around 98% but in a mask it is 88%. That is what a mask does to everyone. Cuts off oxygen intake.

Medicare sends patients home on oxygen at 88% , at that level it is reflective of depriving the body and vital organs of oxygen.

In other words, bad for you.

That’s like wrapping a rag around carburetor air intake.

That engine ain’t going to run right! A no brainer.

Mom is right.

Mom should not allow daughter to participate in B Ball tryouts.

Wake up mom.

After hip surgery last June I had to attend physical therapy sessions two-three times each week. Masks were required. Although the exercises weren’t extremely strenuous, after a few minutes I did find myself gasping and trying to get some “good air”.

I finally quit the session and handled things myself at home.

At the gym I go to they forced you to wear a mask while working out.

A mask Nazi Karen walked around all day to make sure it was not below anyone’s nose.

My mask is very breathable and I was having a hard time during a moderate work out.

People are absolutely insane!!

The fact that such a large percentage of my countrymen are stupid is disheartening. But I’ll go on without them.

YES.

Watch an episode of Untold Stories of the ER.

2 bodybuilder friends were to compete in Denver. They decided to train with masks (this was years before this hysteria). Took a while but the ER docs finally figured that out about the one man who was brought in and suffering breathing and hypoxia issues.

That’s interesting...Possibly you missed the research from before COVID that showed that surgeon’s blood oxygen saturation decreased when they were tested after an hour wearing surgical masks. The surgeons were just standing in one place, not running around like this girl.

Pesky things facts. They keep getting in the way.

I was born in Ala-da_n-bama.   Five generations before me are buried in Remlap, Alabama.   That's Palmer spelled backwards and yes, there is a story about that too.

Most electric motors need air for cooling. Wrap a rag around an electric motor will cause it to overheat. Wrap a rag around a carburetor air intake will cause it to choke for air.
